I have a 2008 Prius needing new ABS brake actuator. I have the old one out and it is part number 44510-47050. The car has over 200k miles and I'm hesitant to put in a new unit with prices of $1,200 to $1,800, so I'm searching for a used one.

My understanding is the new revised updated Toyota abs actuator has part number 44510-47051. Anyone been down this path before, and if so, where did you procure your used unit? Thanks in advance.

If you are referring to the white label on the part, as shown in the image below, that is not a part number.

No one has come forth with what that number is, and speculation has suggested it might be a manufacturing number, an internal stock number, and a few others, but it is definitely not the part number. It has been a source of confusion for as long as forever, given that it uses the same format Toyota uses for part numbers.

The part number for this is 44500-47141, as can be seen in this item display on a Toyota dealer part site:

You will see on the left in red that it says, "This part does not fit your vehicle", but under the part title, it says, "OEM Toyota Actuator Assembly, Brake for 2006-2009 Toyota Prius". I don't know why the contradiction, but it is the correct part for the 2006-2009 Prius.

You will also notice that this part replaces 44500-47140, which was the original part with which the car shipped, and likely the one you just removed.

Long story short, if you have a replacement part with a label on it that says 44510-47051, it is the revised part 44500-47141.
