I’ve been reading and to stop burning oil from happening my mechanic said to not sit and idle for long periods of time- and to get the engine hot before shutting off to prevent condensation by driving it… any other advice is much appreciated!!! I can breathe as where I live I have to have a reliable car.

I had one of those crv's with that engine. The big thing is frequent 5k oil changes. Don't go by Honda's variable oil life calculation. Its not about oil burning on the crv, its about keeping the turbocharger lubricated.

The good news is the car has a superb ride and good handling. It also has a conventional cvt which so far holds up well. In the past Honda had issues with transmissions.

The build quality is solid as well.

If you use Apple Carplay or Android Auto I can highly recommend an Ottocast adapter that plugs into the usb and makes your CarPlay/AA wireless.
