In USA! Among strong teams, Brazil opposed Morocco and did little. Other strong teams will soon beat on junior opponents by a lot or little. Early round play differs from late. Is anyone tuned in to this? Stadium seats have become very expensive - any thoughts? If this is world's most popular sport we ought to come up with something to say.
I've noticed bars and restaurants filling to capacity for watch parties. Not clear whether these fans couldn't afford actual tickets or if they were always going to watch on a screen. I enjoyed the work I did to help broadcast several past World Cups. Also very happy I'm not involved in this one. I just turned down a big contract with somebody who hadn't adequately planned their resources... those jobs are never fun.
if you pay taxes, yup. or to look at it another way, it will be assets moved from other areas at the state level, and more debt at the fed.
the local billionaire (Kraft) just sued the town his stadium is in (Foxborough) for a million bucks because he doesn't feel he should have to reimburse the town for security expenses kraft-group-town-of-foxboro-lawsuit
Hey, they could always close Rt 1. south of the stadium and see if they like Walpole's police detail bill any better.
Team USA!! Most Americans don't realize how big Soccer (football) is outside of our country. I was deployed to Italy in 2006 in support of the Iraq War and was amazed how the entire country shut down whenever Italy was playing....and when they defeated France in the final game they went crazy partying out in the streets....was fun to see!!
