I have considered this. Just can’t sever the umbilical cord.

Yeah, owning a car is much easier.

If you don’t need to drive the car, simply sit in it for an hour in READY mode once a week. Read a book or surf the Internet. LOL. That should eliminate the need for a battery maintainer.

That's fine; but I need to point out that your PC MUST be plugged-in too.o_O:whistle: A laptop in sleep mode will eventually die, if unplugged requiring a full reboot. No power to keep the memory circuits alive.

The reason it burns down the battery is your FOB and alarm system. A physical key system doesn't need to constantly scan the spectrum, because it doesn't know when your going to drive it. An ignition key will pretty much shut everything OFF, when keyed OFF. The nature of the beast; more conveniences requires sacrifices.
ie; you want accurate AI predictive algorithms; you give up your privacy.

The Smart Key system does go into a low power mode after a while. Don’t forget the Telematics system (all the “ Connect” products) is a big power user.

No, this is simply false. The smart key system goes to deep sleep in less than two minutes if the key fob is more than three feet away.

You need to hook up a battery monitor and observe what is going.

Telematics, which was mentioned, is usually asleep as well.

I was not advised of this when I purchased my new 2024 Prius Limited. I have had seven battery failures due to the 12 V. the
The first time was very interesting. I was on a car ferry and it died on the last trip to the island. THAT was special ! My vehicle was also involved in an accident while parked at 350 miles. The back quarter panel, wheel well, hatch as well as the bumper were very damaged. The 12 V actually exploded an impact. After 4 months in the shop and 18,000 in repairs I got it back. I assumed that the 12 V failure was due to an electrical issue with the repairs. The vehicle has now failed seven times. They continue to check the 12 V battery and they’re telling me that it is fine. Should I love it or leave it? I am looking into a CPO XLE AWD with low miles and the white pearl which is difficult to find. I have included a recording of my Prius the seventh time it was in the garage. Please note that the engine noise was present when the vehicle was turned off.
