Don't worry, you will offend someone. Because some are looking for ANYTHING they can
    be offended with.

That's what the "IGNORE" icon is for. Then you don't have to see what the know it all's post or
the trouble makers. I will make Prius Chat a better place. And make your life a lot happier.

@jacktheripper, Completely taking down that webpage like you did also works. Thank you.

I never knew that the subject of Prius hybrid batteries were so contentious. This is like watching a political debate.

Now, let me put it to everyone this way: I have reasonably $2k to spend on a battery. Other expenses will mostly need to be toward getting a 12v auxiliary battery and paying my mechanic to install both batteries. With that said, does that change any of the advice offered? Also, please don't start another full page of arguing. I really do need advice here.

Get the Sodium Ion Hybrid and 12v batteries from Jack.
Whether you install them or someone else.

How long do you plan on keeping the car? That answer will change the recommendations.

IMO, the best battery is a new Toyota OEM, but that will be out of your price range. I would seriously look at buying a hybrid battery out of a wrecked car. The newer the car, the better, but they are not cheap.
