Thinking about installing this 2" receiver hitch on a GenV Limited AWD. What do you think?
I will not be towing, just carrying 1 or 2 pedal bikes on a OneUpUSA rack. Total weight would not exceed 150# (rack + max 2 bikes). What do you think?

The problem with putting a hitch on a vehicle that rides low to the ground is the hitch ends up too low, especially once you get near max tongue weight.

But for only $20 from Harbor Freight you can buy a 2" hitch receiver that you can bolt to the bumper on previous Generation Prius. I'd be curious to see Gen5 bumper under the cover to see what's possible. Main advantage beyond just being way cheaper is it allows you to mount the hitch receiver higher up...

We discussed this design at length several years ago and I updated it a couple months ago after years of abusive use: Doing Hitches for Bike Carriers - Hitch Hauls - Mobility Chairs - Trailers | PriusChat
