So I’m pretty new to the community and I’ve had this car for about almost a month now. I just filled up at a Washington Costco and the numbers completely shocked me. My other barely driven vehicle is my classic 94 Bronco, last fuel up on that was about $150 fill up for 20 something gallons. The Bronco can hold 32 gallons and this painful fact usually hits me weekly. But now that I have this insane car, things have turned around. When filling up from an empty tank on my Prius (only 2 notches/bars remaining) I was expecting the fill up to take a while like my truck but it didn’t, it was instant and surprising. I tried to add more thinking it was a mistake but it was full! So now gas here has come down to $5.05 a gallon but I can’t complain because i only had to fill up to 8 gallons or so. Costing me $40 total. I also use Fuelly for my Bronco so I switched over for the Prius and I’ve never seen such a beautiful number of 43mpg! I’m in heaven man. This is a total life hack and everyone should drive a Prius.
You gotta crack a smile fueling up. It's so cheap for the amount of miles these little cars get. Coming from a 15mpg 4.0L Jeep TJ, into a 50mpg 1.5L Prius is such a huge relief to the wallet.
I really do man. Like i said when i filled up I thought the fuel stopped early or was a mistake. There’s no way it’s done filling up! Yeah puts a big smile on my face.
Word! I have a '09 myself. Looks like you live in WA; drove mine 720 mi. from Reno NV to Belfair a couple weeks ago for $66.00... My 2021 Suburban would be around $200 all day...Great cars indeed!
After letting it sit for just over two years, decided with prices of fuel going up, to get it on the road again. Yes, a reconditioned new hybrid battery (and 12 volt one) as well as fuel injectors and oxygen sensors and once more, it runs perfectly. Instead of my previous 48 MPG, getting 50 MPG (highway w AC.) So, can't say enough how well these cars are built. As far as complexity - these are rather simple to understand (through not always to work on - lol.)
