My 2007 Prius would not start even though I installed a new 12v battery. My mechanic installed an inverter pump which resulted in the engine starting. However, the car will only start if the fob is inserted and the brake, ABS, VSP, lights, will not go out. Do I need to replace a sensor?

you need a mechanic with a prius aware scanner to read the trouble codes which tell you where the faults may lie.
did anyone test the new battery to make sure it is fully charged? did you install a quality fresh fob battery?
