Hello all, These are the symptoms: 1. The daytime running lights turn on intermittently when I turn the headlight switch to that option. 2. The non-driver side windshield washer nozzle does not work, and I’ve already tried to declog it to see if that was the issue. And it was not. The driver side works just fine. 2a. When I pulled out the fuse that is connected to the windshield washer motor, some white dust came out. And there was white dust on the fuse. I could not tell if the fuse was still intact. 3. Now, the rear windshield washer nozzle doesn’t work either. Do you all think all these things are related to the same issue? What do you all think my next step(s) should be to troubleshoot this issue? Thank you and regards,
#1: I believe that is what is supposed to happen. #2 & 2a: Since the drivers side works, it's obviously not the motor. Either the hose is cracked, or the "splitter" is clogged, and/or nozzle The splitter is a common issue #3: Is the motor running for the rear washer? If it is, again, check for a clogged nozzle, or cracked hose. It is possible the motor is clogged up, even if it is running. Pull the hose off the 2 none working nozzle and see if the fluid is getting to them.
I know Gen2 has a motor for front windshield sprayer and a separate motor in same reservoir for the rear. Did they change that design in Gen3?
I think it's the same in gen 3. So if I saw one front nozzle spraying, I would rule out a motor problem. But somebody who didn't know that might not.
Yep, OP hasn't cleaned their clogged nozle holes enough yet. Needles work great and removing it from the hood makes it easier to be more thorough.
just started poking around with it today, and that’s why I posted about removing the hood insulator in a separate thread. I am correct in my assessment that the splitter and hoses all run under the hood insulator, and there’s no way to work on the splitter and hoses without removing the insulator?
The splitter is on the lower passenger side. You just pop the lower left (as you look and the pad) and pull the clip out. You'll see where the hose goes under it. Just pop the clip out. Be careful, the pad is fragile, and could crack...
