Drill baby drill was stolen from John McCain, and 47 uses it on people in maga who don’t look up anything. Like he said he can lie and they eat it up. I don’t know if this is correct because it seems to be from 47 admin, but where is the link to your numbers? As you see drill baby drill doesn’t mean a thing in the real world. Your words don’t match this data.
This forecast is from the end of 2025, notice the lower oil prices per barrel before 47 started a war for no reasons. Notice it says an increasing oil production the past four years, completely opposite to your idea.
Or are you only excitedly in your cult mania believing what you want to hear?

EIA forecasts U.S. crude oil production will decrease slightly in 2026 -

You do realise that oil is only suitable to sell off shore, the US refineries can't use it, the brilliance of the US petroleum industry, the USA can't refine their own oil ...... I don't understand why the average American can't see the problem here .....
DJT invaded Venezuela because they had the right sort of oil for the US refineries ..... but his "advisers" didn't tell him there was no working infrastructure to get it out of the ground and onto a ship to transport it to the US refineries.
The US oil mobs won't waste billions and 3 to 5 yrs if they started tomorrow to build the required infrastructure to make the area productive again, they got burnt bad last time and they know fossil fuel has a limited time before it's just for the enthusiast, they are playing the smart game overseas and building EV charging infrastructure and once DJT is gone, the US will be flooded with electric vehicles, so they will use what they learnt overseas to build out the networks in the USA ......

Sorry, but I have family members who "make polar bears cry" as I like to put it.....

    Fact check:
    FALSE.

US refineries are optimized to process heavier, cheaper foreign crudes but this does not mean that they CANNOT use domestic crude.

They can blend the light sweet crude with imported heavy sour crude and get by, but they can not continuously process light sweet crude, they just aren't built to do that. There is more money to be made selling the light sweet crude than there is refining it in facilities that aren't designed to process it. The oil companies are all about making money, too bad if the local users don't want to pay what the overseas markets will pay.
What happens when they can't pull more sour heavy crude from the reserves stockpile? What will they have to pay for the imported product, if they can actually find someone who will sell it to them?

Venezuela - the largest proven oil reserves in the world.
    Close by.
    Heavy and sour.

You seem to forget that you cannot eat oil.
Well.....we do in the US with petrochemicals in food dyes but this is because BOTH of our parties are horribly corrupt - but that's a side issue.
We also have lots and lots of arable land, and as you are very much aware - one does not necessarily NEED oil to drive automobiles.....as has been proven by Brazil since.......the 1970s.

How do you plan to get it out of the ground in Venezuela? If it was that easy, China would be there already, they can build things incredibly fast and have the $$ to do it ....

As far as producing E fuels, besides the moonshiners, what other facilities do you know of that can produce a lot of ethanol? What about the diesel for the trucks and fuel for the aircraft?

    From Googles AI Gemini
    The Yield Problem
Sweet crude oil (specifically light sweet crude from US shale basins) naturally contains a higher concentration of light hydrocarbons. [1, 2]

    • High Gasoline Yield: Light sweet crude is excellent for making motor gasoline.
    • Low Middle Distillate Yield: It yields much lower percentages of middle distillates.
    • Distillates Needed: Middle distillates are the specific chemical fractions required to create diesel and aviation (jet) fuel. [1, 2, 3]
According to the U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA), simple distillation of light crude can produce these high-value fuels, but the low volume per barrel makes it inefficient as a sole source. [1, 2, 3]

Good point but, really.....why is there this persistent notion that oil is in short supply?
Like I said before, you can't eat the stuff, and you also cannot hide a sunrise.
Oil prices are not going crazy DESPITE the wah in Iran, an overblown storm in the Gulf of Mexico (pun nearly unintended) an earthquake in Venezuela, the "rock-n-roll Houthi coup," or any of the other reasons that people are dreaming up.
Demand is down among the various importers, and the zany 1970's inspired Peak oil concerns are not bearing out.

Oil is a finite resource, and that's a fact and it DID power the industrial revolution, but that was two revolutions ago - and the Luddites LOST.

I think it was wood burnt in a boiler to drive a steam engine that powered the industrial revolution. The diesel engine was built to run on vegetable oil and peanut oil, so fossil fuel didn't bring about either of those great leaps forward, the fossil fuel industry just twisted arms till their product was used and they had a customer base that they could take to the bank.

The USA was supposed to be the clever country of innovation, yet they couldn't build refineries to use the oil the USA pumps out of the ground ......

The US oil reserves are a mth away from dropping to a critical level, then the oil market will be dependent on spot pricing ...... let's see what happens in 6 to 8 weeks with gasoline prices, then consider where diesel prices will be, stuff doesn't move from one place to another without diesel ...... the prices could climb to the point trucking companies simply fold because they can't pay for fuel and wait 3 mths to get paid for the delivery .... it's already happening over here, so you can be sure it will happen over there when they can't pull any more out of the reserves without the whole thing collapsing.
Then there is the military reserve level of 250 million gallons, with the level at 310million gallons now, that leaves 60 million gallons to go before paying the world spot market price, the pump prices will be a shock to the system ....

    Agree to disagree.
You can make a point that the IR was "started" that way.....MAYBE, but wood is a poor fuel source for boilers - which is WHY they stopped using it as soon as BETTER energy sources were developed.

    Same with diesel.
    Actually?
In a fair and just world "Diesel" would always be capitalized - and even in the year of our Lord 2026 there are goofy theories that he was "suicided" by big evil oil companies that were terrified by the fact that people were going to start using french fry oil to instead of coal or oil.
    Yes.
It's true that Rudolf Diesel specifically designed his engine to run on vegetable oil. He figured this would allow rural farmers and small industries to produce their own fuel - which means that he was a genius at some things but a little short sighted at others.
Like all liberals he couldn't manage money worth a crap.

Let that marinate for a bit.
Do you REALLY THINK that we would allow 11th century religious zealots to twist us up like they do if any of that were possible at scale??
Heck, we have people IN THIS FORUM that are "useful idiots" for the API because we blend our petrol with friggin CORN!

Humans didn't evolve beyond the Stone Age because they ran out of rocks.
We found better ways to do stuff.
Oil is 'having a moment' but eventually we're going to figure out something better - and almost certainly before we've extracted the bast bit of oil from the insignificant crusty edge of this little planet.
    Again.....agree to disagree.
If this were in any way true then US refineries would not be running flat-out, Boogity, boogity, boogity the way they are. Operators would be sitting in their break rooms (or living rooms) waiting for oil to trickle in from overseas.
    This just isn't happening.
IN FACT, every time one of them goes off line or gets shut down it causes some localized price changes - and NOT downward changes!
One of the reasons that people in the PRC (California, not the other one) have to pay so much for their gas is the fact that they use some Gucci hippie-dippy designer blend of fuel that is not made by very many refineries.

I would also humbly submit that the US is still a little innovaty......
Socialists countries CAN and HAVE been able to do 'stuff and things' but greed is still the mother's milk of innovation.
The top 10 largest companies in the world by market capitalization seem to be well represented by innovation started right here in the land of the free...

In related news, numerous auto makers are announcing either ending or slowing down their push to produce EV-only vehicles.

EVs are more of a nich-market for the rich who love to brag "I'm better than you" For the average working class, EVs aren't even an option. (Especially in 3rd world countries.)

As a whole, EV's aren't practical, aren't affordable, and our current energy grid isn't even close to being able to recharge them. (Not without bringing many nuclear power stations on-line.....but Democrats can't figure out how to squeeze any corruption money out of that so they won't support it...even though it's the CLEANESS power there has ever been....but, hey, ignore the science, right, Vanvan???)

They can use the light crude, but run at lower efficiency when doing so. That means it costs more to run the refinery. Which is why the US frackers had to discount their crude for those refineries to buy it. Even then, the refineries can only run the light crude in a low blend with heavy.

Yet when Trump asked US oil companies to invest in those fields, they said no.

Brazil uses slash and burn farming for sugar cane to make ethanol. A process that means needing new farm land to keep up production. The US uses corn, which requires petroleum and natural gas derived chemicals for fertilizers.

The Strait being closed is going to have a big impact on food prices because much of the natural gas that flows through there is for ammonia.

The term E fuels usually refers to fuels made from electricity, CO2, and water in what is basically a reverse of steam reformation of methane. Once you have the methane, you can go on to make other hydrocarbon fuels.

The company working with Porsche in Chile for E-gasoline is/was going to make e refineries in Texas for methanol and LPG.

Of course the process is pointless without cheap renewable electricity.

Innovation has nothing to do with why it is so. It is all about greed. Those heavy crude refineries were built decades ago. Building new today would need to meet current environmental and safety regs. the oil companies can make more building the refinery in a place with less stringent regs, and shipping the oil there for processing. It is why they lobbied to get the crude petroleum export ban lessened to allow the export of fracked oil.

This is actually worse than a lack of innovation.

There might be one refinery for the light crude on the Gulf Coast.

Not surprising for the third biggest EV market when regs turn hostile to them. Auto makers are still going forward with EVs in China(first) and Europe(second).

There isn't many economical ICE models left for the average working class to buy either.

It isn't like 3rd world markets are getting cutting edge ICE tech. Or they are buying Chinese, who will be happy to sell EVs where the electric grid is stable.

If we can't charge EVs, how are we going to power all these data centers?

You really invent out of thin air corruption money as something the nefarious democrats have about nuclear power in 2026? All the while your man invents new ways of presidential corruption going into his personal bank account. You’re consistent. Hang on to those talking points they drum into you.
I’m proud to be a Democrat and am for nuclear power. I don’t remember talking about it here much but hey it’s all good.

The us has 50% of the refineries they once had and no refinery of any significance has been built since 1979.

Our refineries are VERY expensive to run on light sweet, plus we get less output per gallon in and our own oil is the market’s oil, we only get it if we pay market price.

the reality is that there was talk very high up about rationing, even a very unexpected individual said Americans should drive and fly less about 3 months ago.

have you gone in a Walmart lately?

motor oil is $5-$10 more per jug/gallon (depending on how new your stores stock is)
Toyota and others are allowing new oil to have cheaper more common grp2+ and even different grades as it’s expected we won’t be able to make enough traditional synthetics.

    https://bobistheoilguy.com/forums/threads/automotive-news-report-oil-shortage-looming.407680/

The mormans increased food production and distribution by 10 mil large last year and are trying to do so again this year as they expect catastrophic food needs.

go to bobistheoilguy and specific producers have commented on reality.

Immense shocks and shortages are expected in December , your rose tinted glasses may be right but nobody in the industry actually agrees with you, their goal is to keep people calm to avoid hoarding, that doesn’t mean everything is terrific.

The "not enough electricity for EVs" argument can similarly be made for these monster computing AI farms. Yet Life Goes on.
Lest we forget, the mass EV production/ paradigm shift thing is still in its infancy. Look how long it took cars to become way, way more than what they were - looking back into THEIR infancy .

That's true.....while China is racing for the AI advantage, they are building new coal plant after coal plant to make more power. Meanwhile, the US is building one in Anchorage and one in West Virginia and these are first two since 2013.

So sounds like we are FAR behind in this race.....but I read they are ramping up smaller, nuclear power stations plus looking at the environmental studies required for new plants which delays them by years and years....which is ridiculous! (I doubt China, the worst polluter on the planet, worries about anything environmental.)

Since gas prices topic evolved into electrical use, electric ranges and household A/C are common in 2026, huge users of electricity. Never hear anyone say we can’t have A/C not enough grid, or electric ranges, water heaters etc. Right wing talking points about EVs use too much electricity for the grid always fail. It must be they fish for reasons to make up to feed an agenda. First the agenda, then the fishing.

So, an interesting video, yet it flies in the face of all - or most of the chicken little, "the sky is falling" put out by most of the pundits nowadays
