It's pretty rare for an oil pressure switch to blow out; unless the previous owner was using heavier than spec'ed oil to curtail the oil burn issue. Thicker oil means higher oil pressures. That's a low oil pressure sensor that's only rated up to a certain pressure, before it starts springing a leak..If it came lose, there's a likelihood that it has already been replaced. OEM sensors are lock-tighted in; so they don't back-off.

I've personally seen iridium plugs go 175K+ miles without issues. If your only getting a few years or less than 50K miles out of them; they are most likely counterfeit parts. Real; OEM quality spec'ed parts usually don't fail before specified interval replacement - If that's been your experience; you've been buying non-OEM quality spec'ed parts. That would also account for any weirdness in the cars' operations. The more barely in-spec'ed parts you install; the greater the weirdness. Your creating issues that will get worse exponentially; because your ECU will compensate on bad data.
