    Hi everyone,

My 26 XSE just hit 3 months old with 2.4K miles, ~20% of that were driven in HV mode.
Should I do a break in oil change soon or just wait til 6 months? I am not into that 10K miles OCI non sense. I will buy a 5 quarts jug from Walmart and a Toyota oil filter and have my mechanic change it.

    TIA.

Also, I am thinking of switching to 0W-16 OR 0W-20 at the first oil change. I am in the SF Bay area, climate here is quite mild.
    Any thought or comment?

    TIA.

I would drop that 0W8 break in oil out ASAP and go back with a Quality 0W20 Hybrid oil from Amsoil or another top brand.

Appreciate the feedback. I just bought some Valvoline 0W20 at $4/quart , plan to do oil change this weekend.
BTW, I change my oil religiously every 6 months on all my household's vehicles. I think I am too cheap to spend $10+ a quart on Amsoil.

Good job...I, also, do a break-in oil change at around 500 miles then it's every 6-months or 5,000 miles, whichever comes first. (I use Mobile One until the car gets over 100,000 miles then switch them over to Valvoline Restore and Protect. In our non-Toyota vehicle, a Hyundai, it's the Valvoline R&R always and she used to get changed every 5,000 miles but it was way too dirty for my comfort so I now change her every 3,000 miles....still dirty but not as dirty....worried about that GDI engine lasting the long-term.
