They don't bother me; because I'm not doing anything illegal. If someone wants to follow me around; more power to them. Please buy me lunch for the pleasure of following me around - It's only fair. Your in a public place, anyone with a cell phone can record you too.
I actually wouldn't mind if they placed a cameras at each entrance and exit of our subdivision. We can work backwards if something is stolen from our subdivision.
Some city and counties has a ordinance that allow them access to your ring camera; no subpoena needed. If you have a full security suite with internal cameras; what's to stop them from looking at those too - it can't be used in court because they weren't suppose to do that.

I feel that this is blaming the equipment; NOT the user. The pro-gun advocates uses this also. guns don't kill people; people kill people. It's not Flocks fault that law enforce and non-law enforcement people are abusing the equipment. o_O I don't see air-tags being made illegal, because there are multiple cases where they were being used to track and stalk people.

    YMMV

I read that these things are being banned, but I’m not sure why

Until THEY change the definition of what "wrong" is. These are operated by a private firm, not city, state or federal agencies (though they can access this info, and do).

You are apart of the most at risk population.

Many things aren’t possible to be used responsibly because human nature will never allow it, certainly not during our lives.

One day, a company was putting up cameras in front of my house. It was pretty unsettling, like big brother

And, you, none the wiser, when "they" snuck in later that night and implanted a sensor behind each ear:eek:

Some states and school districts has actually banned 1984; it was required reading in my day.

Yep at least you are choosing to navigate online with that potential. Flock is an unconstitutional dragnet that's storing everything about your private comings, goings, and such. Even if ran by the government (local or otherwise would still be questionable) but a private tech bro started Flock and it's not regulated.

Ontario's premier Doug Ford recently got speed cameras pulled, against advice of most everyone but a few lead foots.

Please clarify which constitutional amendment they are violating?
Those are public cameras pointed into a public space. So if I record something in a park with my cell phone that's illegal????

Believe it or not I own neither and only have exposure due to work .

my working cars are old enough to lack electronics and any electronic devices in my car usually have a dead battery in airplane mode.

Our city traffic cams contract wasn't renewed. Accidents and incidents in those intersections went up by 300%. We forced the city to reinstall them; but they are all city owned and maintained. No more splitting traffic violations revenues with a third party and more than pays for that new division of the city. BTW; accidents in those intersections went back down; now that everyone knows that they are being watched.

Fun fact: Navigation software will notify you when an intersection has a camera; if you turn-on that option.

"Public" cameras? So you can build your own surveillance cameras and hang them from trees or light poles facing a street and store that data for whatever reason legally without the city or Law Enforcement taking them down? I'd like to see you try. Cell phone is not the same thing of course we can record anything in a public space but we're not data harvesting and stalking people. We're talking about a private company "Flock", fixed camera locations, for private usage we may or may not know about.

How are they "accidents" at that point if you can actively avoid them by knowing you're watched? :ROFLMAO: Either way, city and local government cameras that help traffic safety and don't store and share data with whoever aren't the problem.

I'm seeing only voluntary opt-ins, not involuntary mandates.
They'll need a search warrant to get inside to access my recordings, as my system is not connected to the internet or WiFi.
But that doesn't stop it from being used as leads to other things that may be used in court.

    You haven’t looked very hard
already one yuppie ville occupied mostly by gated/hoa with less than voluntary policy regarding open access to your cameras, especially business related.

now you will force me to find the example, can’t remember if they were going to file a lawsuit
