    FWIW, I've never considered you to be the least bit foolish.
    I've known more than a few people, including our county Coroner growing up that eschewed the belt.

    when my parents bought an impala convertible in '63, I wanted to stand on the seat with my hands in the air like a roller coaster. but it was our first car with seat belts, and they made me wear it. :mad:
    I think it affected me mentally :whistle:

    My octogen mother still does that, if she's driving and I'm in the passenger seat. Never challenged her on it, either :p

    Did prove she learned to drive in a world that wasn't totally 3-point yet. Did Dad do it? Nope, but for different reasons :rolleyes:
