Seems like a silly question but I cant find out what model prius I have. When I bought the car the dealership said it was a 5 when i got insurance they said the vin matched with a version 4 so Im curious. Its a 2011 Prius it has the nav package with the JBL sound system. Any help please!
did you buy new or used? new would have had the marooned sticker with package number and accessories. you can't miss it, it's almost as big as the window.
One think you'll notice is heated leather seats and leather steering wheel. Headlights in the IV is halogen and LED's in the V.
The seats are not leather and steering wheel is I guess a regular steering wheel. I do however have the illuminated entry lights so not sure if its the 3 or 4
Does it have the LED headlights, fogs, and headlight washers? That would slamdunk it a 5 I think. As mentioned above, it should the 17" OEM 5 spokes. It shouldn't have a sunroof (or moon roof, or whatever, lol), I believe.
If it's not a Five, does that mean you get some money back from the dealer who told you it was a Five? Also, you can ask your insurance company. They always get the VIN, and they base their rates on what trim and options are on the vehicle, so they can tell what you have. SCH-I535
Will have the levelling gizmo on the rear, solid axle; good to occasionally unbolt one end of its linkage, work the elbows, ensure they’re not seize, spritz a little more lube into the joints. it’s got the 17” rims? Should also have the steering upgrade, JBL, and I think radar cruise. <rehashing
i tried to start my own thread, but couldn't see how to do it. Maybe it's because I'm too new to the site. The LED headlights on the grandson's "new" Prius has one serios flaw. When stopped or moving slowly the LEDs are bright and have a clean cutoff. But, when the car reaches about 20mph the LED lights instantly switch to a much higher lighting position, like it would be for high beam. When you slow down to 20mph or below the leds instantly switch back to normal low beam cutoff. Speed back up and leds switch back to higher lighting. The switch from lower to higher always happens at around the same speed and the switch happens instantly, so it would if turning on or off the high beam from the steering stalk. When we bought the it was daylight, so we didn't notice this behavior of the car. After buying the car, as we were driving back home it got dark. I was driving lead on the way home, with my grandson following in the newly bought LED Prius. My observation of the car was it appeared as it should at stop or lower speeds, bright white headlights not at all blinding in my rear view mirror. Once we starting moving above 20mph the LED Prius would light out the inside of my car. I haven't driven this car at night, so observation is as the car in front, so the 20mph behavior could be happening at slightly different speeds like sometimes at 22mph or 25mph. The 20mph is my guess at the speed as the lead car. But this behavior was constant the whole home. Never once did it act normal. Any idea about what the problem could be?
Maybe something to do with the self-levelling mechanism I happened to mention earlier? It's relatively accessible: you can just scoot under at the back, no need to raise the car, and get to that self-levelling control to check on it (unbolt one end, see that the joints are free). It's on the back side of the rear solid axle, can't miss it.
