You're saying that $31,385 is affordable? I know I can't afford a car that expensive. And even if I could, that's a lot of money that would be better spent elsewhere.

I agree, that is a better price closer to what you could consider an economy car. Not enough to convince me though personally. Maybe if my rent weren't double or my internet cuadruple what they used to be before the pandemic I'd be more inclined to consider a more expensive car than my $15,000 used Avalon.

I think it would be very popular among a large segment of buyers though.

I hope that'll be true. But I don't think it will be though. I think the K-shaped economy is pushing too many people to either be looking at sub $10k or $5 used cars or to have the money for $30,000 and up cars. I believe that that right there is the main reason why the economy car segment has been slowly disappearing in the USA.

There's the Kia K4, the Chevy Trax and the Toyota Corolla, and that's about it. The Honda Fit, Mazda 2, Toyota Yaris, Mitsubishi Mirage, Nissan Versa, Ford Escape, Ford Focus, Ford Fiesta, Dodge Dart and many others are all gone from the US market even though some of these are still sold elsewhere.

you may be right. I'm not really familiar with the economy, or the car buying habits of the American public.
I always figured it was the manufacturers and dealers pushing larger and more expensive vehicles, which are what most people want in the heart of hearts.
