Interesting, I have had a number of websites relating unfavorable facts about 47 and they are not loading. Not one other website I visit has a problem. That there are many more unfavorable views on here towards 47 than favorable, it could be his censure teams are at work. he did it himself just the other day, telling a reporter they are “from fake news, don’t ever talk again.” Maybe the powers in charge here can advise what went wrong so often.
Relax bisco. Shutdowns are only required while downloads/changes/ fixes are applied. The site is already shutting down a couple times a day now.
I know, but I figure one day, it's just going to be gone. obviously, it doesn't pay to keep it updated properly. and trying to monetize forums is a difficult proposition in itself.
Every time I try to log into the site lately I'm reminded of an elderly person walking down a flight of stairs.....
No, it's not....but it is getting worse. There is not enough traffic on this site to excuse this without "some communication" from the powers that be though.
After the server reboots, it seems like the cycle is: Response times are great. Server gets bogged down, and response times climb. Server response times continue to climb until the server becomes unresponsive. Server crashes. Server reboots. Rinse and repeat. This cycle only takes about 40 to 45 minutes. Rebooting seems to take 30 minutes or so.
4 am on West Coast North America, site was fast. 20~30 minutes, completely unresponsive. Another 1/2 hour, back up, albeit slowish.
We know the last forum software update botched up refresh and editing for ios users and it would not surprise me if that is not a clue to underlying issues that remain. Old software like Priuschat develop "memory leaks" which use up available processing space and or the old application becomes slightly incompatible with revised operating systems. Only the admin and owner could tell us for sure but this problem has been ongoing for years and seems to be reaching a point where admin can't or does not want to get it fixed. Given how old this site is I would imagine it might require a new forum application to make it reliable and that might lose content without some serious cost to convert the database.
I used to think at least it's not as bad as the priuschat store support. Only now - I think it's a tie. People used to say you get what you pay for, & with that in mind - I guess the store is still worse, because you ARE paying for stuff there.
The store has not been active "for awhile." Like months and months. Maybe a few years? Never was formally announced, though, AFAIK
Please turn it off, I am neglecting other things. I don’t need to think about cars but estate planning, and talking to the maga cult is worse than talking to a wall.
Well, I'm glad I am not looking for help with my Prius as these continual web outages are really getting to be a pain. If I were needing help with a car issue, it really would be unbearable. Think I will take a break and spend a week at the river. I have my frog suit.
Judging from the time stamps on my alerts, site was down “all the livelong day”. No matter, I had other entertainment, prepping another wall for painting.
I spent the afternoon cutting back blackberry vines. At least I did not encounter any poison oak (I hope).
I have half a mind to try and archive at least all of the gen 1 forum. It’s much easier to find information about the gen 2 and newer, but the gen 1’s small production and age makes it so hard to find stuff about it
