That illustrates yet another misunderstanding. The people who were asking to see your covid vaxx cards, were not "covered entities" subject to HIPAA.

You didn't have to answer, but they could legally ask, and could legally decline you from entering.

I would be surprised if a company felt threatened by my lawsuit funding capabilities. Certified letter likely air mailed to trash bin.

I can name two presidents in office during covid, can you? One especially was really bad at it, the first one who is also the one now, he tried to play a doctor. Isn’t that hilarious, a hotel manager guy giving the nation medical advice? Not funny for the victims though.
I am not a gun silencer buyer, but I know people who buy them know what the sole purpose of them to be made was. I don’t want to know the technical aspects of gun silencers, why would I want to know that.

Interestingly enough, the new M7 'features' a 13-inch barrel with an integrated can on the end which seems to keep the gasses where they should be AND keep the weapon from being overly muzzle heavy.
UNLIKE the M4's 14 inch barrel and mouse-round combination, the M7 fires an adult sized (6.8x51) bullet.
The suppressor is designed to do what they ALL are supposed to do which is principally to preserve the shooter's hearing.
Of course, since the NFA is about to go the way of the Allosaurus, those shorties (SBRs) will be widely available in the civilian market in due time. :)

ANOTHER thing that suppressors have in common with the Prius - LOTS of FUD out there by people who have strong opinions about something that they have no familiarity with.

Unless it's "Fire" in a crowded theatre or some similar scenario. ;)

Unlike firearms regulations, there is no prior restraint to prevent you from shouting "fire!" in a crowded theater. No tape or muzzle over you mouth. So if there really is a raging fire emerging, you can shout that.
It would help keep you from posting some of your misunderstandings about them, e.g. "silence bullets". They do nothing of the sort. They do attenuate or muffle the sharp gas blast that propelled the bullet, but the bullet's sonic boom or other flight-generated noise is completely unaffected. As is the mechanical noise of the firearm's operation.
Other than an old expression for which calendar it used to declare the date it was written, the Constitution and Bill of Rights do not mention God.

Do those right come from God? Or from the Magna Carta? Or somewhere else? That remains unspecified, and disputed.

I don't know of any Supreme Court justices who go that far. Certainly not the late Antonin Scalia, who wrote the ruling that overturned DC's handgun ban. Not even any Trump appointees. They all agree that some degree of regulation is permissible, even if the specific degree remains TBD.

No posts after @ETC/SS conflated firearms (or accoutrements) with Prius and I'm happy about that. It was a shot in the dark.

Several posts separately praised US' gun-ownership policies. Not entirely unique among nations, but stand outish. It's a common theme at PriusChat and I'd have been be surprised if it did not also appear here.

US' gun-ownership policies, while not entirely unique among nations, have interesting consequences. Which a large rug would be required for sweeping under.

Global firearms manufacture is an $USD 11.4 billions annual industry:
Firearms & Weapons Manufacturing Market Report 2025 | Industry Analysis
and for $295 one could learn how much of that is non military. Frankly I had thought it to be larger; maybe not close to $USD 700 billions cosmetics, but c'mon guys, market better. It cannot be known if US will later join sensible sensible countries later. Do your stuff now.

Firearms availability in US contributes to atypical suicide rates, mass shootings, and violent crime rates. Those have been presented around here before and tiresome to repeat.

Medical costs of firearms injuries in US are $USD 1.3 billions annually:
    https://jamanetwork.com/journals/jama-health-forum/fullarticle/2839237
So a favorable balance could be argued. However, do not expect health-care professionals who have treated firearms injuries to enjoin. They have seen things that no one ought to see.

Firearms availability in US persists as a 2A cudgel in some elections. Expect that to continue when other slogans lack traction.

    --
To me it is inconceivable that US will soon modify its not entirely unique position among nations on firearms. Those who support it and those who don't will continue to be vilified by their opponents.

To invigorate this post I would need to ask the internet how to obtain strong poisons, but I will not ask. Asking the internet questions about poisons (or bombs ) would be unwise for me. Believe it or not, those questions would also be unwise for you.

How to kill people? Beyond those here above, a person could use sharp metal implements, vehicles, or firearms. Not a complete list. All of them are more or less user available, and most of them also have benign uses. @ETC/SS asserts that intention drives public accessibility of lethal means. People buy firearms for defense; not for extrajudicial killing. That's the story.

People buy sharp metal implements and vehicles for utility; not for extrajudicial killing. So (and who would oppose?), people can buy those everywhere.

In a few countries, firearms are added to that list for public purchase. Old news.

In no countries is it OK for public to purchase highly effective poisons or bombs, or their immediate precursors. Potential harms vastly outweigh potential benefits, so, no. Intention does not figure in, as it does in US for firearms.

@ETC(SS) asserts no such thing - AS PROVEN by the very FACT that the NFA (National Firearms Act) has little to do with ACTUAL firearms.
    THAT'S the 'story.'
    Gun control ain't about guns....
    It's about control.
    ALWAYS HAS BEEN.....

IT ACTUALLY HAS MORE TO DO WITH FLOCK CAMERAS!!!! - even though I do not find them to be very bothersome, personally.
I've never even SEEN one in the wild.

A 'suppressor' is not a firearm. A US state can (and most DO) completely outlaw them.....and the so called (and poorly reasoned) Bruen decision requiring gun laws to align with historical traditions doesn't 'play' with them.
Rifle Braces aren't firearms either, and neither are little bits of plastic that get in the way of a trigger bar's disconnect mechanism or so-called "Glock Switches."
Lightning Links? - Nope they're not Firearms! BUT they are banned - even though they're MUCH LESS USEFUL than Forced Reset Triggers - which are NOT BANNED!!!

Any of that sounding kind of arbitrary and less than 'fully scientifically controlled?"

MORE US Citizens were killed by firearms during the US Civil Wah than in any other conflict.
You want to know what was the most sought after weapon?
    An 1858 Remington 6-shot revolver!
It was a "state of the art weapon of war" for an 1860's conflict!
    • Solid Top-Strap Frame: Unlike Colt revolvers which had an open-top frame, the Remington featured a solid top strap over the cylinder. This made the gun much stronger and less prone to warping or stretching under heavy black powder loads.
    • Easy Cylinder Swaps: Soldiers could quickly remove the cylinder pin and swap in a pre-loaded spare cylinder in seconds to reload. Colt revolvers required a more tedious disassembly of the loading lever wedge.
    • Safety Notches: It featured safety slots cut between the cylinder chambers, allowing the hammer to rest safely between nipples so all six chambers could be carried loaded without accidental [sic] discharge.
You KNOW what you can buy (or build) RIGHT NOW with NO PAPERWORK, NO PERMISSION, and get mailed to your door with zero paperwork???
    An 1858 Remington 6-shot revolver!
THIS is because the US Government and the US Federal Law does not consider it to be..................a firearm!
NOTE: Some local areas or states have different rules and may treat black powder or replica revolvers more strictly than federal law does.

NONE OF THIS has anything to do with the US Constitution or why firearms are protected thereby.

Self defense is a PIECE of the puzzle, but it ain't the whole picture.
If you want to SEE the whole picture, study a little nation I like to call Viet Nam - or maybe Afghanistan.

HECK.....maybe read a book or three about how the UNITED STATES got started!
Rabid Right-Wing Bomb Thrower Ken Burns did an acclaimed video series about it if you're 'not into reading.' ;)

*** With apologies to Ken - who IS an honest broker and DOES have a sense of humor....and more or less 'tells the truth.'

If a party can’t win elections due to backward looking views, they use simple divide and conquer. Get people to be blinded enough not to see things like Jan 6 as they were. Believing Jan 6 was a tour or had a valid reason would be humiliating to let go of. If they live in a maga village, their whole life in the village would be upset if they dare disbelieve the lies. And here we are in the USA, a divided country.

I've been thinking about this a little bit.
If a silencer is like "EV" mode in a G3 Prius....then an FRT is like a G5 Prius PHEV.
    Lots more expensive!
    More capable BY FAR!
Sexier, even if you're into cars that you have to fold yourself into and that are somewhat fragile.

I do not own a suppressor (yet) because they're about $500 and up, and quite frankly there's something "world ending" about firing an adult-sized rifle with a brake inside a building! :sneaky:
You get about 25-30% of the effectiveness of a flash-bang (which I have used before) with NO additional complications or cost....OH, and flash-bangs are now and (probably) forevermore going to be banned for 'civilian' use........

    ....but WHAT ABOUT FRTs?
Freedom haters always ask the same question:
    WHY do you NEED those?

One possible answer is that they're pretty much LIKE the G5 Prius.
EV when you want it.......Gas when you NEED it.

    Oh wait.
    I forget.
Some people are not aware that Forced Reset triggers are part of a 3-position 'select-fire' lower.
It's selectable (like the G5 Prius) in case you're in bear country.......hunting Bambi.......and you do not want to tear up the carcass with unneeded additional shots.

    Oh, and ONE MORE thing....
    Hogs.
There will be somebody out there pointing out that getting charged by a pissed off bear is an edge case.....AND IT IS.

    Hogs?
They're kinda spicy too....in case you haven't been following recent events.
Bears AT LEAST BELONG in the woods.
Wild pigs are like honey bees - NON INDIGENOUS to North America.

I expected to read about plausible deniability, but instead read about dramatic harm caused from my words . Upon reflection, this is better, because poster can again extol their own expertise.

We remain no closer to understanding why US should differ from most other advanced countries wrt firearms. Profits to manufacturing and distributing industries must figure, but the full story must be fuller. Medical responses to bullet holing has not been fully suppressed.

It is almost unique for US among nations to chart its course, extensively and expensively, with generous public firearming admittance. US can teach the world about this, at cost of however many deaths and injuries, and at cost of however much collateral damage.

Make and sell guns and accoutrements for profit! I dare ask for numbers.

Some sent bullets do harm and, I again ask for numbers.

Some US firearms may prevent crimes, and I again ask for numbers.

    --
Not quantifying results from US' unique firearms experiment denies US and rest of world useful knowledge. I know that most readers here lean into reality. Firearms are not highest concern (self distracting); health care is.

    ==
Or health care isn't? Where do readers see best health benefits where US could invest on behalf of citizens? Say if it has nothing to do with firearms, and I'll try to keep up.

" ...are actively being removed ..."

Yes, we can read about that. Flock buyers 'are' abandoning their earlier investments, eschewing data already collected, and paying for removals. As they ought to, I would say. Land of the free and whatnot.

Any words contrary to that could be seen as conspiracy theories; previous domain of the other political extreme.

I use a lot of cameras on my property and license plate reading figures heavily into my strategery - but fear not!
MY policy REMAINS to leave no constitutionally protected freedoms behind....

    HOWEVER (comma!)
You can use DIY, 'AI at the edge' systems like these to win the WIN (what is normal, what is not) battle.
I can hide a camera on my property that quietly sorts through license plates, disregarding 'the regulars' and alerting me if an out of state plate appears, or a non-regular local plate RE-appears.
Useful stuff BOTH left and right of 'bang.'

Imagine agencies with lots of bucks in their pockets might be interested in outsourcing these efforts?
MIGHT one imagine a world where a camera as small as a grain of sand could be more effectively hidden?
COULD the FLOCK cameras, which are about as subtle as a Trump press release be......(wait for it!) ID10T bait???? - smoking out some of the 'usual suspects?'

    We'll see..... :)

    Personally?
I'm happy enough to leave the FLOCKing cameras BE.
They only catch the stupid criminals, and perhaps some of these may be rehabilitated - ALWAYS the best outcome.

Optical devices of desired angular resolution cannot be scaled down smaller than a certain limit, not nearly as small as electronics. Physics! So for reading license plates, you'll probably have to settle for a pea, not a grain of sand ...

... which isn't that much of a constraint on your imagination.

Flock cameras are a great tool for Law Enforcement and I would strongly support them
Flock cameras helped find a killer, locals still find them dangerous

Understanding the Role of Police Flock Cameras in Modern Law Enforcement - BlinksAndButtons

    perhaps some perspective -:
every modern car must have a black box that is tracking your driving behavior and can be subpoenaed legally by insurance, Law Enforcement etc. to assist with legal investigation, when you have an accident the black box freezes and captures all relevant driving information to help reconstruct the accident.

Your phone is constantly recording your location and use - it can be legally subpoenaed in an investigation to help substantiate your guilt

Google, Edge and most websites use tracking cookies to document your internet behaviors

Most stores have cameras that record customers as they are shopping

Facial Recognition Technology: How It Works, Where It's Used, and What It Means for Privacy | GovFacts

..these are just a few examples of technology- Flock cameras are the least of your problems if you are worried about privacy...

If you are of the criminal persuasion, it would be best for you to stay up North or on the West Coast - do not go to the Southern US - Flock camera networks are plentiful and growing and exchange information state to state.
