Updated Bar's stop leak report. I've now put over 2000 miles on the car and everything is still fine, no leaks, no rattles, coolant level normal and it's running smooth. Like most of the USA it's been really really hot here with heat indexes over 105 for days in a row but that hasn't affected the car. It's not our primary driver and sometimes sits for a couple of weeks but I've been driving it daily most of July and all of August. I know this may be a rare example of success but I recommend trying it, but not using the whole bottle. I used just a third, about 11 ounces and closely followed the instructions. Has anyone else tried Bar's, in any car, and it worked ?

Success is six to twelve months without heater, radiator or thermostat clogging which compounds a worsened situation later.

THIS is reason number 8,565 for why I don't buy used cars.

WADR to the OP, the "Bar's Stop Leak" treatment is actually less.....um.....'advisable' than using bleach to treat Covid. Bleach only negatively affects one human, directly - and in most cases, it is the human that made the choice to USE it.
Besides - in sufficient quantities, bleach is 100% effective is reducing the spread of most viruses. :ROFLMAO:

There's nothing at all (except ethics) that prevents somebody from selling a car that's been abused in this manner without disclosures.

Sorry - but future PC readers (if PC SURVIVES into a future) should be advised in the strongest possible terms that Bar's Stop Leak is NOT....IS NOT, a wise product to use for this car (or? MOST cars manufactured after 1960!!)
