this website has gone ballistic.

Could we get any info from the admin/hoster what is happening..? This site has an uptime of 50% nowadays, sad.

 

The Toyota TIS Techinfo system is the gold standard for pdfs on their cars. Thousands of pdfs which can be downloaded.

Years ago I spent a couple days downloading gen3 material, organizing and revising their cryptic names to make them easier to find on my drives.

The pdfs have many links to other pdfs which don't work on the locally saved versions but if you put them in a searchable drive it does not matter much.

 

Regarding the website: after a string of down days, it's been business as usual this morning.

Was just down for about a hour...again. Don't know how much this site makes you Danny, but I'm pretty sure the head count makes a difference. People are going to stop coming hear if you don't fix this or tell us what's going on.

 

Maybe we could get the powers that be to change the title from 'this website has gone ballistic' to,
"is" ballistic

Now it's just taunting me. I can try it, discover it's up, yay, find a post I want to reply to, write a reply, post ... nope.

 

Could be his iphone batteries aren’t being charged enough so his hotspot to his computer in the basement goes off.

 

I would like to help with hosting or technical issues. If this Danny can please post here so he can get assistance and possibly funds, we are many who love this site.

 

This sites database is absurdly swollen after so many years of posts and likely needs some trimming. Perhaps one option is to move them older posts to an alternative archive site (that would still be searchable naturally). I’m just trying to help.

 

In houses of pancakes/politics tons of pics are loaded and they load fast, the site stays up.

 

I would not object to (1) fee based, ads free, and; (2) what we have now, free but needing an ad blocker. A two tier membership system.

It's been years since Danny posted regarding an eventual payola multi-tier system, but as most things Prius chat, nothing ever came of it. And in reality, the way things go here, we'd be paying for stuff that's still collapsed in on itself / down.
Better to be exasperated pain nothing versus exasperated and pain for greater expectations and not receiving them
