    Hello All,
Test drove a new o7 yesterday here in NJ, any advice for noobie buyer?
The base model was 23k and loaded was 28k, I like the loaded as it has the sweet options.
Anyone have a great dealer experience in Jersey?

    thanks,
    Dave

No dealer experience in NJ but I bought a loaded 06 and love it. First time with leather seats and it works great when having dogs. Not sure I can live without bluetooth or GPS from now and (and neither can my wife).

Good luck with your choice and I hope you'll enjoy it. Remember that you will see much better gas mileage once it gets warm

I would recommend avoiding East Coast Toyota in Wood Ridge (near the Meadowlands). I had a horrific experience with them. I don't know much about other dealerships, though.

My wife & I have both previously had good experiences with DCH owned dealerships ... Kay Honda in Eatontown & Freehold Nissan. From my experience with them, I would suggest Freehold Toyota or Brunswick Toyota.

Good luck with your search!! Keep us posted!

    funny you mention them

Good Expeience in 1985 with Freehold, then a camry in 2000 from East Coast.

Now I am leaning towards Parkway and Glen.....

    My advice:

    1. read this forum a WHOLE LOT before you make your purchase
    2. if you know what you want (package 6, etc) shop over the phone and be willing to drive. Expect to get a car for under MSRP, perhaps under invoice.
    3. don't buy the extended warranty from the dealer. You can get it through Troy on this forum if you want it for around $900

scoot! Very good advice. I agree with all off them. A year ago you would expect MSRP (I paid $500 less), not you should be under MSRP and maybe under invoice. Find a dealer you trust and don't buy the waiting list thing, it's not true anymore

just picked up a Mag Gray Touring Pkg #3 today for my wife, gets her out of her 14mpg SUV which now becomes mine. I've got a whole 55 miles on her so far! Absolutely love it. Not sure where in Jersey you are but I got mine at Toyota North in Mt Kisco NY. Closed the deal last Saturday...$1,875 under MSRP!!

I posted this in another thread but will copy again here hoping it will help you in your purchase.

I'm picking up a base package #5 this weekend for $25,000 + $99 processing + taxes and tags from a dealer in Northern Virginia. This amounts to over $800 below invoice and $3217 below MSRP.

Hi all, just joined the forum today. I am not a newbie yet, haven't purchased the car. I am quite conflicted about it, probably because I have never had to actually purchase a car from a dealership before. An emotional and confusing decision for sure. I am single with no kids, and environmentally conscious so a smaller hybrid car like the Prius makes sense. But truly, at the expense of blaspheming, the Prius is not very easy to look at. Reliability and fuel-economy may trump looks, I am thinking. I go for the second testdrive tomorrow. Wish me luck. I would like to purchase the car through the no-hassle Costco plan, if I do. Any one else do that here? Thanks for your attention. (Any suggestions on larger, more reliable wheels for the vehicle which wouldn't conflict with its shape? It has tiny wheels that don't inspire much confidence)

One other piece of advise is to rent one, if possible, for a day or two. This way you can see how it will be during a normal commute and maybe a longer trip to see how the seats feel after a while.

Welcome to the new members. www.carbuyingtips.com has lots of useful information. There is a thread here listing the 2007 option packages or go to www.toyota.com and a number of threads about tires and wheels.

There are 10 Prii on the lot of Liberty Toyota in Burlington. 8 months ago they either got 2 or 4 (don't remember) per month. Treat this like a purchase for any other car. Taxi fleets in Canada haven't reported any problems so don't buy into the doom & gloom you may hear at the dealer.

Good luck in your quests and keep us posted.

Jackofalltrades, wow that a good price. Kelly blue book says invoice should be 25332.00 Are you trading anything in or is this an outright purchase?
