I have used the search function but haven't found out if the 07 Prius comes with valet instructions...

I know that the pre-delivery checklist states that it should come with the car, but mine didn't come with any.

Do you guys find that you still need them with valet or not? I am sure it depends on where you are located, but I don't think there are a ton of Prii in New England, especially Rhode Island :)

I guess I can just print some out but don't know if I even need to bother.

    Thank you for your opinions!

I didn't get any valet cards in the 2007 I took delivery of this past week, either. I was concerned that there wouldn't be any, so, I split the otherwise never-used pad from my 2005 before selling it. No, I've never had occassion to use a valet in the past year and 5 months that I had the 2005, but I wanted to be certain I had a small supply, just in case.

I got a bunch in my 2007 which I just drove off the lot yesterday.

'bout 50 of 'em, in a pad.

Or go back to the dealer and ask for some...

Actually, if you search around here you can find them in other languages, which may be helpful in some cases. By now, a lot of parking valets have Prius experience.

Using a parking valet may also require some driver training. Shortly after getting my car, which has SKS, I took my wife to a restaurant that has a parking valet. We got out, the valet took the car away, we went in and ate. When we were finished and I gave my claim ticket to the valet, he said "We parked your car, sir, but we don't have any keys to pick it up for you." Yep, the fob was still in my pocket. I handed it over with a good deal of embarrassment and he went and got the car. I gave him a good tip.

A little pad that is basically "Driving a Prius for Dummies". You take one off the pad and give it to the Valet.

I did not get any when I took delivery of my '07 on January 15th.

Dealer said they are not available any more. Can someone give me a part # so I can have words with them?

the valet card is helpful, thanks! i didn't get any w/ my 2007 either. i had to drive into the loop today and was running a bit late so decided to valet instead of self park. i didn't have these handy cards so i asked if he knew how to drive a prius. he said, "no problem, i know how to drive." i became terrified when he couldn't find the gear shift between the 2 front seats, and made a sound of awe when he found it next to the wheel. i proceeded to hover in through the driver's side window to make sure the guy knew how to turn it on/off and shift gears. i felt guilty in the elevator for being neurotic, but it's a new car!!

No valet cards with my Prius. It was easy enough though to print out a bunch, attach them to a little keyring and throw them in the glove compartment.

IMHO this would not just be great for valet personnel but also ANYONE that needs to drive your car, like Joe the tire salesman pulling it into the bay to change your tires or your next door neighbor etc. I think it is a great idea. I asked my dealer/salesman and they looked at me like I had 3 heads.

When going over the manual etc, our salesperson looked at the valet cards and said "I wonder why they are giving you so many of these.....I have no idea what their for...Quick Reference maybe?" I happend to mention they were valet cards and he says "that makes sense". Oh and yes they were included in our 07 Prius :)

So this means that the car will continue to operate without the fob in it's vicinity?? I don't really like the sound of this, i.e. carjacking, forgetting to shut it off.

Yes it will operate. It does chirp at you several times to warn you that you are walking away from a running car.
I second the part number request. On my 2006 I was told the ywere no longer available. Looks like they resupplied for 2007.

The valet instruction pads were not supplied or mentioned with either my 2004 or 2007. Thanks, I will print some out. I was worried when I had to let a valet park my Prius at a dinner as he did not act like he really knew what was going on. I worried the whole time.

I only used a car wash once in 3 years that had you leave your car with the attendant. I ask him if he knew how to drive a hybrid? He gave me that roll your eyes look, but then could not see how to start it. Then I watched for my car to come through the wash and several other cars came through first. I have not tried that since. There is one of those car washes that has you stay in your own car and run through, near my house so I alway go back there.

There are many other cars out there that have SKS and a start button just like the Prius. It may be confusing if you ask someone if they have ever driven a hybrid, it is not any different than the Lexus, BMW or mercedes with SKS. Unless I am mistaken which I may be, but I have driven all of these and they were not different.
