Who are more smug? Apple or prius owners?

How about orange owners?

 

LOL. i read the heading and thought "well, i'm screwed". I own both as well... Although the conversion to apple was recent, and i'm still not fully convinced - i just hate microsoft.

My experience with apple owners isn't that they're smug... it's more that they're extremely stubborn.

 

Just look at the Apple vs. PC commercials.

 

Hmmm. I have an Apple and a Prius, too. But I also have a pc, and I put more miles on my bike than my car, and I walk to work. Maybe it balances out. If I really were a smug smartass, you'd tell me, right?

 

Do I detect a trend? I also have an iMac and a Prius. Hmmm. . . .

 

That's funny since I've had an Apple since the days of the Classic Mac, 2E and 2C's. I'm shopping around for a Prius so I guess I'll be considered smug. My OS crashed a few weeks ago and my husband said "see that's why we should get a PC!" I told him no way, with a Mac you never really get viruses so a crash/freeze is nothing compared to the damage a virus can do IMO.

 

SUV, Mercedes/BMW/Ferrari owners/drivers have always been. The rest of us are just wannabes.

 

You wanna see smug? Just you wait 'til I get my Tesla Roadster (maybe???) in a year or so. Then you'll see smug!

I know a few people who own Prii, and I know a few people who own Macs. The Prii owners do NOT try to fit the fact they own a Prius into every conversation.

Typical conversation:

Me: Bob, how are you?
Bob: I'm fine! It's going to be nice weather out, which I just looked up on my Mac which is oh so much better than a PC!
Me: Want to go to lunch somewhere?
Bob: Sure! There's this new restaurant that I heard has a great menu. Sort of like the menus on the programs for my Macintosh!

(Later, at restaurant)

Waitress: May I take your order?
Bob: No lunch for me, but I'll have a piece of apple pie, like Apple, the makers of my Macintosh, which is oh so much better than a PC!

(After lunch)

Me: So, split the check 50/50?
Bob: Can you cover for me this time? I still haven't found a job because everyone wants people with PC skills. The cretins.

:lol: Which is exactly why I defected to the world of business standard PC's in 1996 and haven't looked back. My Mac networking skills were getting me nowhere fast. I have a great high-paying, high-benefits job that is very secure.

I was hooked on the Mac when I was first introduced to the Macintosh II, the first Mac that was 2 piece and color in 1988. I do still own a "special edition" iMac (the cool graphite one) and even a IIsi that I bought in 1991. I don't use either of them any more.

 

This thread reminds me of the classic headline from The Onions, "Harvard Grad from Texas Unsure Which to Drop Into Conversation First"
