I test drove a Prius the other night and now I'm seriously shopping around for the best deal. Does anyone know who might be offering the best right now in So Cal considering the HOV passes are gone and the tax credit was cut in half? I'm really liking the Super White pkg 6 w/dark grey leather :)

Check out www.carbuyingtips.com and follow their advice. Since you know what you want send e-mails to several dealers to see what they offer. Good luck finding exactly what you want.

Hey there! I just got my prius last weekend. Am in the Southbay area so I went to 3 different dealers: Manhattan Beach, Carson & South Bay. Ended up getting the one in South bay because they had the color and package I wanted. I'd say the buying experience was quite pleasant too.

    A few notes:
-If you like package#6, Manhattan offers it as a special for $25888 (I passed becaused they didn't include the color black, most were green).
-Carson doesn't carry anything less than package#5, so everything is $28000 and up.
-South bay seems to have the most inventory (for package 2's and 3's anyway)

And feel free to haggle, getting one now for less than MSRP is very possible.

Heynow. I just picked up a package 2 MSRP $24,169 for $22,323 at Toyota of El Cajon in San Diego. Took 3 days to close the deal, plus they are offering 4.9% for 60 months on Prius thru the end of Feb.

    3000 down / 400 month

Put your game face on and be prepared to walk out.

Definitely get a quote from Miller Toyota of Anaheim from their internet/fleet guy. They had the best online offers, and it wasn't even close.

I also got quotes from Cabe Brothers and Toyota of Long Beach, as well as Carson Toyota.

I then took the Miller Toyota quote to Longo Toyota in El Monte (which would be good for you in Rosemead). They were willing to compete with Miller price-wise.

So, the best places I dealt with were Miller and Longo.

I used Edmunds.com price quote deal.

I heard on the radio today that there's 0% APR on 2007's over President's Day weekend.

Toyota of Glendora offered to sell me a Prius package #2 for $21,996 out the door which I believe is about $500 under invoice. I didn't even have to haggle with them. Go in and talk to Bill Darrell, the internet sales manager, he won't screw you around. The only prob with Glendora is that they didn't have the color I wanted. Let me know how it goes. Bill is a cool guy.

The 0% APR is for the entire month of Feb. and you have to pay it off in 24 months. They try and make it sound like its a weekend sale thing. Slimey of them don't you think?

    1. Go to Toyota.com, find local dealers, some of the local dealers let you search their inventory for what they actually have. You will get the best deal from someone who has it in stock
    2. Shop over the phone - you already know what you want You are probably NOT interested in the dealer making a trade with another dealer.
    3. Cal Longo -- they have a large inventory -- tell them you can buy today.

Purchased mine Brand new Easter Weekend 2005.......Quality Toyota of Corona.....$700 under MSRP....hassle free. Flawless transaction.

Buy at the end of the month or better yet the end of any fiscal Quarter when they are more willing to deal!

    Good luck!

You want to go to Santa Monica Toyota this President's day weekend (i.e., tomorrow).

They had a number of Package 6's for $3500 under MSRP.

I got a Package 5 (no leather) for 3400 under MSRP. Evidently that was around 1000 under invoice. It's awesome.

I got my 2007 Prius through Costco last November. Took a couple of tries due to the dealership not actually having the one I wanted. I received about $600 off the sticker. Back in November, there wasn't much in the way of negotiations.

Hamer (not my favorite dealer, from a previous experience) in Mission Hills had 35 in stock, and 0% APR.

I too bought mine through Costco.......paid 100 dollars over sticker, got great service from Sierra Toyota in Lancaster. Learned something interesting this weekend.
Had my taxes done and while i'm not complaining, i'm pretty lucky....it turns out that at a certain income level the Alternative Minimum Tax kicks in and we are no longer able to claim the 3000 dollar credit (06, pkg8).
    Anyone know different?????
    thanks.

I just bought one in the Northeast. I did all negotiations through e mail. I ended up getting a package 6 for $24999. They are definitely willing to go down now, you just have to find a lot that has a bunch they need to unload.

I highly recommend going to Manhattan Beach Toyota and talking to Pio Martinez. We bought a '07 Prius a few weeks ago from him and got a smoking deal. :) It was the package #6, silver. The sticker was like $32000 which was $3k over MSRP. A total joke of course. We got them down to $27,132 after reading another post on this forum stating they got that price. That's about $2500 below MSPR which is pretty sweet. But then we got a phone call from them a few days later saying they were having a sale and only ended up paying $24,998. Now don't expect to get the ~$25k price tag...that was a special sale on 6 of them they had (2 white, 2 green and 2 silver). But you can definitely get the $27k price from him which is still fabulous for the package 6.

    Thanks Pio. :)
