EV and MPG reset

The situation you describe is normal. The mpg displayed is cumulative until it is either reset manually or the power is cut.

That's exactly what my '06 does. The average MPG only resets when you manually reset it. However the number of miles next to that average MPG resets every freaking time I get gas. It's very annoying actually. I really wish that would also only reset when I hit the button to manually reset it.

The car has two trip odometers that don't reset until you reset them. Just forget about the MFD mileage, and use one of the trip odos if it bugs you to have the MFD odo changing.

Would if I could, but I can't, so I won't. I already use my trip odometers for other purposes. If I could, I'd add a Trip C. But it'd also be exceptionally handy (and rather expected behavior) if the average MPG/milage settings only reset when you press the button to reset them. If that's not an actual software bug, it's most certainly a GUI blooper.

 

Yeah. This one had me a bit puzzled for a while. I had just assumed that the mileage and the MPG readings on the MFD corresponded to each other, since they both sit there side by side, and since they both reset when you hit the reset button. But then you fill up a tank and one resets but the other doesn't. :blink:

One demerit for the guy who did the code on that one.

I'd give him/her two demerits. They had it working in 2004 and 2005 (both reset). They still say they both reset in the 2006 manual and I surmise they have not fixed either the car or the manual for 2007.

Yeah, anytime you add five gallons (or was it 4?) of gas, the miles on the MFD will reset, but the MPG will only reset if you push the reset button. As stated above, there are two trip Odo.... to use to calaulate whatever you want to measure......

In the 04 and 05 models, both the miles and MPG automatically reset in these circumstances.
