Found the perfect Water Bottle for a Prius, yet?

    I love to drink my bottled purified water. I was looking for something that would fit the cup holder, hold about 1 liter of water, and yet not be so tall as to get in the way, reaching across while driving. The Dasani bottle was close in size, but a bit too tall. Others would underfit the holder and teeter somewhat. After a bit of walking around the supermarket, I eyed the perfect bottle:

    Their juices are kind of pricey but the rinsed out bottle with the plastic label peeled off fits like a glove, is short, has a nice look to it, and is quite durable, too.

    I've found a Starbucks or Peets large (venti) sized iced drink cup works well for me. I have a few at home that I just refill with iced tea (mmm...Tejava) or water or whatever. I actually use the cup holders a lot more than I originally thought I would. They're much better than the flat "pull out" ones on my old Camry.

    The large pocket to the left of the driver's door (on the bottom of the door) is meant for bottles.

    Have you tried Fiji water? The bottles come in three sizes. One should fit pretty good. I put a small one in the door. The middle one might fit the cupholder. I use the big ones for refilling the smaller ones.

    I lay down the 500ml bottles in the door pockets. Otherwise, the cap begins to scratch the door.

    Have you tried the Sam's Choice (Walmart brand) flavored water bottles? They are cheap (.50 for a bit more than 1 liter. I think they are 40-some ounces) and have a tight fit in the cup holder but not too tight to get out easily.

    The small Nalgene bottles are a perfect fit for the center cupholder. They hold tight enough that it is a one handed operation to unscrew the cap and get a drink.

    Yes, that's how it is for me with my Bolthouse Farm bottle, too. I like that about it. I am keeping my eyes open for a push-pull nipple attachment that will fit it, but so far nothing. I will check out your bottle, too.

    I had not noticed that the door was suitable for any bottles. Thanks for pointing that out. I've always kept papers, books, maps and the like there. I did not even expect that. I will keep an extra bottle there.

    I am a veteran of the Nutri-system weight loss program (I've lost 48 pounds since Halloween) and I am supposed to drink at least 64 ounces of water per day, so I will do likewise with my large bottle (it's too darn big to enjoy drinking out of).

    Lone Ranger, perhaps you should just install a large water tank on the roof with a hose. Sip as you drive! :)
