Pin 'em down on a PHEV...will they beat the Volt to market...is that a goal?

Anticipated launch date for the next generation.

Didn't really give us much notice.

    And 18 days...holy cow...didn't realize.
*edit, your web site says 14...oh man....

I, and a few others, have noticed that the front fenders are loose under the A pillars on some Prius. Ask him if increased production has led to a decrease in quality. How have they kept the price where it is?

Ask when they will offer an electric seat? I had to have mine rebuilt because it was so uncomfortable. Ask him when they will make the Pri more Stable in windy conditions. Ask when they will offer a sunroof? THANKS

Ask him if Toyota comes out with a better battery, will they make retro fit for earler models?

Are they going to rework the frame stiffing plate for better handling?

Are they going to make a kit for early models to install an extra batter pack
and charging unit for plug in ops so the older models can increase MPG?

Are they going to redesign the front door window frames so rain water will not
drip on the window control panel, if you drive in the rain with the window cracked
open or park on a hot sunny day and want to vent the car?

Yeah, sorry for the late notice. The meeting wasn't set-up until about 5 minutes before I posted this thread :)

I'll definitely try to fit in the questions that I've received so far.

what's the deal with salary jobs for diagnostic techs in TMS? last DH heard it's becoming a trend because di-ag doesn't pay very well and they're much needed.

Hi Danny, Please ask the Rep. why I cannot get a straight answer from Toyota customer service, my local
Service Manager, Shop Foreman (Santa Monica Toyota Service) and alike as to why early am cold startups result in the ICE missfireing and running roughly for a several minutes (no codes in memory), and how to Properly correct this condition.
Also, will Toyota come up with a larger aux. battery for those who need a long backup power supply I sometimes leave the car at the airport for a long time. Thanks...

    Danny,

Nice opportunity to get to speak to someone in the Know.
Are you meeting him in Church ???

The Rep may or may not have answers to the following:

When I try to Coast the Prius, I have to feather the Accelerator from Regen to Coast, but many times it go into MG Boost and I have to feather-off the Accelerator to get back to Coast. It is too touchy.
Is there a way to wire a button to disable Regen when you lift off the Accelerator?

Slightly pressing the Brake pedal could re-enable Regen.
Then everyone could easily Coast their vehicle.

Also, to do Pulse & Guide, the driver doesn't want the battery to be used for MG Boost or to Regen the Battery. Another button could disable All Flow to and from the battery.

This would really help P&G and make it easier for everyone to use it.
Again, slightly pressing the Brake pedal could re-enable the battery.

    Good Luck,
    KR

    Danny,

Thanks for the opportunity. My take is from a different perspective. When is Toyota going to help out the owner groups across the country. Yes, some groups get local dealers to do something for them, but what about some push from corporate to help with giving us brochures or banners or bling to hand out to people at our meets or events. Encourage local dealers or regional districts to help with some meeting space or mailings? How about speakers or materials for meetings? It's easy for Toyota to send someone to the OC or San Diego Prius clubs, but since the death of Dave Hermance whom will go from Toyota? And how about the rest of the country, we exist.

Ask if Toyota knows what the Milwaukee Hybrid Group did at the Milwaukee Auto Show, and, if they know, why did they make the MiHG beg local dealers for material instead of having a corporate policy of telling dealers to help or notifying corporate of the need to help. The amount of good will and one-on-one contact done at the auto show had to have done so much more than any advertising Toyota could have done leading to the show. The MiHG signed up more than 100 people to their mailing lists of potential hybrid owners, what will that translate for sales in the Milwaukee area. What will these people be told when they come to the next meeting in April, hybrids are great-come see, drive, talk about them-but the manufacturers want nothing to do with us owners who brought you here.

Toyota is suppose to be monitoring this board and responding to needs. Looks like a hollow promise. Ask where are they? Other automakers recognize those groups who support their products, does Toyota care that we care about this wonderful auto they have created.

    Have fun at the meeting.

    <div align="left"> Danny,
    Thanks for being an intermediary.

    Two (2) questions:
    1. Is there an override for the 6.1 Nav DVD. (I know, that's like finding the REAL answer to the Moon Landing hoax and flat vs round-earth theories. ;) ) -- Sorry about that quip
    2. This is an irritation for me: -- I bought my TCH in Aug 07, I verified that the address, etc was correct when I filled out paper work. A few days later, I noticed that all Toyota papers had incorrect address, YET my application for tags were CORRECT. (All were filled out by local, therefore they obviously had my correct address since the tag information was right..) It took 3 months to get the problem corrected locally. I never received ANYTHING from Toyota Corporate. Nor did I receive final contracts from AutoButler (paint and leather protection.) Had to push local to verify AutoButler had correct proper address, they didn't. After 4 months of being patient, I contacted Coporate about lack of local response in this small problem. Found out even THEY didn't have my correct address. Coporate told me that the LOCAL does NOT update COPORATE's database when new data is received. NOR does COPORATE update LOCAL's database. Therefore, if I move, I need to contact OLD local, NEW local AND coporate with new address if I want to ensure I get all data! I've owned MANY cars from MANY manufacturers. This is first time in my experience that databases between local dealers and corporate were not interconnected! Question -- WHY? I figured that Toyota would have already been in the computer-age and aware of database networking.
I know this has been a long request.

    Once again, Thanks. </div>

Howdy, I guess I'm not a full fledged member just yet but I am about to buy a Prius hybrid 07'
Here is my big question: At what point Mileage and or hours of drive time is it neccasary to change the cells.

The other big question is How much do the cells cost?

I'm interested in what everyone else is.

LithiumIon battery or whatever else it will be...when? (2009 or will we have to wait for next model cycle.)

Plug-in (2009 or will we have to wait....)

Will they be doing anything about the brace or will we continue to rely on the BT brace?

This may seem frivolous but I'm still interested in dark blue color and side signal mirrors. We've had the Seaside Pearl for quite some time now. The really dark blue is available in the Rav4, Camry etc. When will Prius have a dark blue. Japan has side signal mirrors. I'd like them to be available at least on the top package. I'd buy a top package if that was the only way to get them.

Seat heater, adjustment options equivalent to higher end cars. At least on the higher end packages. Again, I'd buy a top package if this were included. And I'd have an easier time convincing my parents to switch to a Prius if it had the memory seat adjustment and bun-heater options available.

    Godiva,

The RAV4 is Nautical Blue Pearl and the Camry is Blue Ribbon Metallic. They're different from the Dark Blue Metallic in the Prius. But to be honest, any of the dark blues would look nice imo.

As for the distance, I would say somewhere around 500,000 miles, give or take a few thousand. There are Prii on the road right now with 250,000 miles and their original battery packs.

For cost, someone here said that a brand new battery pack costs around $2,600 plus labor.

Keep in mind, for the first 100,000 miles, they are under warranty.

Under normal operation the cells don't need to be changed. Taxis with over 200,000 miles are running on the original traction battery. You should find that the Prius needs less maintenance than a traditional car. Don't worry about the strange stuff--just enjoy the car.
