I had the same problem with some of my destinations. I now use the telephone number entry method for businesses and so far (3 times) it hasnt failed. And many fewer key presses.

The database is not just a few years behind, sometimes it is downright wierd.

A couple of days ago I was making a hundred mile trip and it insisted on taking me the long way. Didn't even give me the option of 3 route choices. So I entered a midpoint city and it insisted I take a really out of the way route using state highways even though my two points were on the same US highway! It routed me about 70 miles when the actual distance is 13 miles. (no interstates were involved.)

Also, at times it displayed my correct location but no road. Sure enough, this road had only been there about 25 years ( I remember when it was put in). Surely the database is not that old.

But wait, there's more. Where the new highway joins the old there is a slight jog in the old (to create a safer intersection). The jog is displayed even though it wasn't created until the new highway was built! So the database knows about the jog, but doesn't know why? Doesn't make sense.

I've also gotten some wierd routes at times. What I've found is the NAV does a solid job of getting me where I want to go -- when I have no idea how to get there. I think its computer calculates the best route based on a bunch of hard-wired assumptions (speed, traffic, etc.) and without the benefit of some relevant information (e.g. stop signs/lights). In cases where I have some idea of the best way to get there, the NAV is really hit-and-miss. In cases where I really know the best way (e.g. routes near home that I travel often), the NAV is often way off.
I am not suggesting that its database is perfect -- I've found a couple things that were just plain wrong (not out of date or vauge, just wrong). But for the most part, it does a pretty good job. I view it as a safety net for getting me where I need to go when I otherwise would have to stop and study a map.
Of course I also use it (mostly for entertainment value) on short trips, but I'm careful to take its advice with a grain of salt.
