On my block it is all Durangos, Mustangs,Rams, and Rangers.

If I had to guess, I would say the average MPG on my block is 20mpg!

My Prius sticks out like a sore thumb.

I was just wondering if anyone else was the only one on the block with a Hybrid.

I don't really live on a 'block', but there are 4 or 5 other sedans, no hybrids(other than my wife's HiHy), and at least 15 P/Us and SUVs.

On my block (only a few houses), there are three Priuses other than mine (two owned by the same family) and a Civic hybrid; and there are several more within a few blocks.

lol, we live in a solar apartment surrounded by green types...

tacoma, civic, outback, jetta, focus. and our prius and camry.

not a single SUV in our parking lot, or those of the neighboring apartment buildings. our old apartment complex had lots of SUVs in the lot.

Quite a few hybrids, mostly Prii. Out of 80-something homes I'd say there's a hyrid parked in front of at least 10 of them.

My neighbor to the right has both an Expedition and a Suburban. Very eco-friendly!

My neighbor across the street has a Honda Accord and a Nissan Altima.

My neighbor to the left has a Dodge Caravan and a Chrysler LeBaron. Both purple. Odd.

Everything across the board from pimped-out SUVs to Taurus wagons.

My next-door neighbors have three cars, one of which doesn't run, one runs barely, and the other runs a little better.

Bunch of trucks and SUVS. A couple of Civic Hybrids. Two other Prii.

I've wanted a Prius since my final year in high school (2003), I was a little pissed when someone in my neighborhood beat me to it just a few months ago!

We have the Prius and the Lexus. Our neighbor to the right has a new BMW Z4 (just traded a couple year old Z4 on it). The neighbor to the left has an Accord and a Jeep Grand Cherokee. The neighbors behind us have a BMW X5 and a Scion xA (I thought that was an odd comparison). As for the rest of the street theres a Jetta, a Dodge Intrepid, one neighbor has a Volvo S80 and a Grand Cherokee (its his company car), one neighbor has a C class Mercedes, one has a new Infiniti G35.

I live in a typical middle class conservative Republican neighborhood! Therefore, you see a lot of SUV's, pickups, plus some luxury sedans. In addition, we have a lot of people that don't fit that mold that drive American, Japanese and Euro (although not that many--some VW's, Audis, Saabs, Minis, Volvos and Bimmers--almost no Mercedes, Porsches or Jaguars--never seen any Italian makes) cars of all types. There are quite a few Prees and Insights in my community. There are quite a few Ford Excursions and Hummer H2's, too!

Oh... Almost no one drives a wagon. There are minivans, crossovers and SUV's. But, almost no one drives a wagon--even the immigrant families from Europe.

Are those green types as put offing as some would suggest? Just curious if there's a different atmosphere where you live now due to this "green" philosophy - and whether or not it's a good or bad change, if there is one at all.

On topic, one Prius across the street and two additional sightings 3 blocks away. Not many SUV's however.

I want to live in a solar apartment...

I've not seen another Prius in our neighborhood. Next door we've got a variety of vehicles, pick-up truck, work van, sometimes a sedan...whatever. Across the street we've got a vintage [or whatever, it's probably from the 70s] BMW convertable and a sedan of some sort, and next door on the other side two sedans. Or one. I don't pay that much attention.

One of our neighbor's daughters has a Lexus hybrid [which I smugly almost refuse to call a hybrid], but "the wheel locked up on her and she freaked out and is getting rid of it". They're the same neighbors who don't recycle because "it's too much trouble" and generally think the environmental things we do are stupid [although they don't come out and say it]. I can't wait until they ask me what I want to major in in college. *evil grin*

Before my apt burned down there were 7 pri and several other Honda hybrids. We were a very green bunch. Now I am surrounded by mostly suv’s and large sedans with v8’s. Some girl next door did laugh at me. She said, “You think your cool because you get good gas mileage.” I think I made it worse when I laughed at her and drove off. Her boyfriend has a Harley Davidson and a huge f-350 she drives a Lincoln LS.

On the same block? Come on. The nearest is 3 blocks away. The closest thing is a Toyota Matrix across the street.

After seeing my Prius, they said they wished they'd paid the extra for the Prius. He's a tech person though, so that's understandable.

However, in the parking lots on campus, there are several Prii around. In the row of about 20 cars outside our building there is one red '06. I'm assuming it's Barcelona, since I don't think they produced the Salsa in '06.
He had been driving a Civic hybrid, which he did like, but decided to go with the Prius this time. He computes over a 100 total miles each day, so he figures it pays for itself quickly. I know of about 5 or 6 Prii owned by people on campus. That's with maybe 1000 employees.

eh, not really. they all seem like normal decent people. they say and we were warmly welcomed to the "neighborhood" by all of them individually through the week. no mention of the hybrid yet but i'm sure they know about it. ;)

the friendly environment is likely fostered by the landlady... very nice person. she personally called all the neighbors to tell them we were moving in.

SUV's, pick up trucks, and Subaru's. Up until a couple of months ago, mine was the only Prius that lived in the neighborhood. (There is one that works at the Vet across the street). A Magnetic Grey Prius moved in 2 streets over a couple of months ago.
