    Hi...
I have seen people on the Meetup list in Denver, Greeley, Boulder, and Longmont areas, but no meetings... Is there anyone in the priuschat group interested in doing something as a group, before the snow flies?

how about the people in Colorado Springs and Castle Rock too?

Hi Dinger... what part of Colorado are you in? I'm on the Denver/ Wheat Ridge line... saw you had introduced your Prius to a BIG Ford pickup... would that have been a Priord or Frius... or somewhere that no one should go... hope you have it back from the shop...

Boba, I would really only be interested in a meetup if it was goal oriented, like say, we all install EV switches or ipod interfaces or mudflaps or something like that. Otherwise, it just seems like we would all just stand around going, "Isn't the Prius great?" "Yup! It sure is!" (kind of like we do now on PriusChat.com!)

Anyway, count me in for a goal oriented gathering but otherwise I'll opt out.

Let me know if you ever do want to do mods, I've got all the tools from my days working as a Toyota Technician.

That works for me... I'm afraid the owner of my car (Sherry..the wife) won't let me do mods...but thats not to say that you and anyoneelse can do them... I thought we might get the dealer where you and everyone bought your Prius involved... their techs and sales people could a show and tell... maybe the dealer would toss in some kind of perk...I am sure that the sales people would love to show all the colors of cars that we might bring..

I'd love to find a way to over ride the switch to the 'fog' lights on my #9.. and have them on all the time...I'd trade for the EV switch...

those are some of my ideas in a nut shell...thanks for your input... my number is 303-233-1992, if you or anyone else would like to call me...

Boba, I still owe my dealership a check for $4200 on Tuesday, so I still don't technically own it- I picked it up yesterday!

Here is my mod wish list, in order that I just thought of them:

    -Factory EV button
-Daytime Running Lights (override fog light switch)
    -Tire Pressure Monitoring System
-Relocate both seats further back (I'm 6'4")
-NAV speed sensor override (with timer to make it last)
-Bluetooth speed sensor override (with timer)
    -Ipod input with controls
    -DVD input
    -Backup camera
-Auto Door lock when over 15 mph
-Auto Door lock when getting out with SE/SS
    -hitch for skis and stuff
    -Mudflaps (Genuine toyota)
    -Better Amplifier for Stereo
-Extra sensors for SE/SS in rear door handles
    -Analog Speedo and Tach
    -Turn Signal Mirrors from Japan
    -Sunroof
-Extra HSD batteries and charger at home
-That automatic parking thing from Japan
-1 PSI electric supercharger for moutain climbing

Obviously some of these are more feasible than others. To complicate matters, I have my first child on the way in December! To be realistic, I'll probably just barely get the mudflaps on before she is born...

I'm very, very good at doing interior work in Toyotas. After all, I did it for 6 years at a Toyota dealership, so I should be... however, I have the skill and the money, but barely any time. I figure if a bunch of us get together assembly line style, we can kick out a bunch of mods in a hurry... I'll be in touch.

My prius and the F-150 was not a pretty sight... but at least my car was the pitcher and not the catcher!

Im down in Parker... but... I commute to Boulder everyday so Im flexible for locations. I would game for a "mod party" or just sitting around with some beers saying how cool our cars are!

Gee Nate you have a Christmas list and a half and a baby too...woo-hoo... there are a set of mud flaps on eBay, right now... I'd like some of those things on my '51... more than my Prius... but like Dinger.. I game, to at least watch and add coments... promise NO, 'wow, your have a nice car'... until you make the first addition...

we have had 95 looks at this topic, hopefully more Coloradians will chime in...

Honestly, my wife will divorce me if I start hanging out with Prius owners, drinking beers, talking about how cool our cars are.

    It's mods or nothing.

Mudflaps are ordered, tinted glass is ordered. 2 down, many more to go.

Add "Auto Defeat of Bluetooth and Nav" to the list...

Okay, Boba, I'm in for a meetup. I've got the lane drift thing, so I'd love to swap cars with you for a quick test drive. (If it's okay with your wife!)

Perhaps she heard "I'd like to swap wives with you for a quick test drive."

    ;-)

Seriously, sounds great. First things first, I'm going to bring it to the attention of Boulder Toyota and try their demo one more time. If they have a fix (which I do not expect) then we can skip the swap for now. If your wife is like mine, she probably doesn't want you wandering all over town on a Saturday to geek it up in your Prius when you should be cleaning around the house...
    :)

sorry she won't swap.. something about having a good thing....

As for running around with a geek...she will just make me get up earlier and get the cleaning done... or put it off... but she is the co-pile-it and probably will tag along... Boulder is just up the road... let me know if you'd like another Prius to make a dealer assault...

hi Mark...me too, I have tried to get my REV beep to stop... but I am not smart enuff to follow the instructions... need to be shown..

Nate lives North of Denver.. Longmont, Greeley, Loveland (someplace I haven't been).. has tools and expertise

Dinger has shown interest and is East in Parker

You are South in Englewood (I think)

I'm in the middle in Wheat Ridge

I'm sure there might be some other lurkers who might want to join in as well..... Nate is having a drift problem and would like to test drive mine.. since I don't think I do.. he also says his bottom rear window is giving him a distorted view... my car doesn't give me that, I was born with it..

let me hear from you guys (any lurkers as well) as to where and when and we can work it out

Boba, yes, I have the tools and the expertise, plus a few odds and ends like extra pins and Toyota connectors left over from back in the day at the dealership.

I have a two car attached garage that stays reasonably warm in the winter. Basically, other than the dealership, I've got the best Toyota shop around. Large compressor with air tools, interior and trim tools, electrical stuff for soldering/crimping/splicing, and wireless internet access for looking up techinfo.toyota.com on the laptop from the driver's seat. I live in Longmont at Airport Road and Clover Basin. It's about 45 minutes from downtown Denver (not during rush hour).

As far as the NAV defeat mod goes, brosnan and I are working on a microcontroller based automatic solution. It's at least a month out, but should be just plain awesome if it all works. I'm holding off on the NAV mod until this is done, but if someone else wants to do the switch version of course I can help them out if we do a "mod meetup".

    Hi Prius Chat Buddies!
I am a dealer in Greeley Colorado...Ehrlich Toyota and I would be happy to check to see if we could host an event to meet at our store, would this be helpful to everyone. I'll even do my best to see what we can do to provide food, drinks, and such. In addition if anyone is still in need of a Prius contact me, no premium simply MSRP. Talk to all of you soon.

Kent, that sounds great! Is your service department open Saturday afternoon's? That would likely be the best time; the shop would still be open but most of the techs would have gone home.

The biggest advantage of a dealer-sponsored meetup is access to the scan tool to set all of the "tweaks", like the brightness of the steering wheel controls, behavior of the "A/C Auto" button, etc. Ken, I am an ex-Toyota Master Tech; my expertise level (although fading) is quite high, so I wouldn't mind leading the event from a technical perspective.

Personally, I have a new baby coming, so perhaps after Christmas is best for me.

Anybody else have a date preference?

Nate, Thanks for the quick reply!
I usually hold events on the weekday 5:30 pm or afterwards, because on Saturday our dealership is extremely busy sales wise. Let me know what a good date would be and I will bring it to my dealer principal to get final approval; so we can host a first class outing!

Kent thank you for your offer... I hope we as a group can take you up on it... looking forward to doing this, both for meeting the people I chat with and maybe helping you sell more Prii by having the owners and assorted colors of cars show up at your dealership....
