Bluetooth Adapter For Laptop File Transfer

    Is there a consensus regarding which bluetooth adapter works best with Prius (2007) regarding transferring phone book from Outlook (Outlook express) from a laptop to the vehicle? If so, is there any additional information regarding procedure? Again, this is about laptop to vehicle transfer not phone to vehicle.

    I'm not sure about any significant differences among the adapters. Seems like even the cheap ones work ok for normal use but haven't seen anything specific to the Prius. The following contains a link to some old laptop to vehicle instructions:

    Not sure to what extent it's been used with newer (06 & 07) systems.

    Most, if not all should work just fine. I used a Parrot when I did it.

    Get a Mac, they have built in Bluetooth. :D

    Thanks but that would not be necessary. Mac does not imply compatibility. I tried a few adapters and there is a definite difference between them. I thought that DLink DBT-120 might be the one that works best with Prius but I needed the opinions of others who actually achieved complete results not only in pairing but actually transferring a complete Outlook/Outlook Express contact list to a 2007 Prius (laptop ONLY!)

    Are you aware of the other phonebook issues with the Prius? There is a limit of 2 numbers per name and I believe the ()- characters that Outlook likes to insert have to be removed (was true for 04 but not sure for 07 since I'd removed them already). I had to create a separate category meeting these requirements for the transfer to work. I can't comment further on the laptop because our Treos transfer the phonebook directly.
