I've got a 2007 Prius with package #3 (yes bluetooth - no nav).

I bought a DICE unit direct from company and received it two weeks ago.

    1) I absolutely can NOT get the conneector to snap-in in the behind the radio. No big deal execpt that it is loose enough to pop out at the first bump.

    2) I get absolutely no text no matter what seting I put it in. Yes I have controls. No text. Half of what I wanted this for was text. My switches are set to UP- down-UP-UP.

Note that I don't see any CD buttons. No anything in the middle of the screen at all. Up above I see CD Change 2, NO CD number, I do see the track number.

Note 2: All the controls appear to work. Hitting the up < and down > change to next/previous songs. Holding it in until it beeps and then next album or something.

So the only thing I'm missing is that I can't get the connect to snap in tight in the back of the radio and I'm getting no text of any kind.

I received the unit two weeks ago (finally found the bolt to pull out the "big white box" and it is supposed to be the latest update for '07 Prii.

I have no idea if this is the problem I've having with not seeing any text. I saw this post. What else should be not working if I blew the dome fuse? Should the dome light not be working? It is on my car.

Try putting the dip switch in MP3 position or Sat position. Try: Down UP ; UP UP

sorry I missed this thread. Did you verifty it was in MP3 mode? If it doesn't work, how about SAT mode?

If neither of these things worked, I'd like to exchange the unit. You can leave the cable attached, I would only want the box.

I'm on it - thanks for the RMA - and for the bumping of the post.

Yes I tried the other options (SAT, MP3, and CD) with the car off and the DICE unit unplugged from the cable going into the back of the radio and also from the iPod. After changing the settings I waited 10 seconds then plugged everything back in and turned the car on and ... at best (everything up) I get great sound but no disc number or anything in the middle of the screen.

We talked on on the phone about a week and a half ago. You mentioned something about being able to send me a new unit and then me sending my current one back to you when it arrived. Just let me know what I need to do.

Ah, sorry. My memory is horrid. All I'm going to need you to do is to PM me with your personal information and I'll create a RMA in the morning, then I'll give you a link that will guide you through the rest of the exchange. I'd like to ask that you put Attn: Nick in the return packaging as well.

I got it, and I replied with the info. I forgot to add that you're not going to get charged for anything, we only take CC info in case the customer fails to send in the old unit. Can you write on the return box or on a piece of paper inside saying Attn: Nick please?

Absolutely. Sorry about not answering before. You answered all my questions (and quickly) so I didn't think to check back before now.

Ni Nick/Vagabond. I received the replacement DICE unit. It works perfect. Everything works, controls on steering wheel, text on the screen including options 1 - 6 and all appears to function as expected. I'm sending the old unit back at lunch time (with ATTN Nick - RMA return) on a paper inside.

Now if we could only control the iPods through voice control. Just (sort of) kidding.

Thank you for great service and being responsive. I'm also going to put this positive update on the other long iPod/DICE thread.

If Toyota will simple add the correct words into their voice command system, we could make it work!

    Hi Nick,

Well the new unit seemed to work well for a few days. At least in MP3 mode. The other two modes never worked but that was no big deal.

Half the time when I turn on the car it doesn't update the text. No big deal. I can turn off the audio and turn it back on and the text starts working again.

The last part is a big deal. It is only making it through about five to eight songs before it stops updating the text at all or it only updates the album but not the group or song name. If I turn off the audio for 15 seconds and turn it back on it starts working again.

    Ok. Will do. Thanks Vegabond.

Note that I found out there appears to be TWO MP3 settings on the DICE unit.

    1) down-up-up-up

    2) up-down-up-up

Both show as MP3. Last night I changed it from 1 to 2 but I will also reset my iPod to see if that helps too.

I've tried resetting my iPod. I've tried clearing it all off by resetting to factory defaults and resyncing all my music to my iPod. I then tried resetting it again, all while trying to use it in my 2007 Prius and it still often has times where it will be playing and stop updating part or all information on the screen.

Note: Probably 70% of the time it doesn't show the info when I turn on the car with audio on to my iPod by default. I then turn it off, count to 10 slowly, turn audio back on and text will display for a few or maybe a dozen songs and then either completely stop displaying text or will update only one field, usually the album name. The group and song info stays static when that happens. Turning off the audio for a 10 count and turning back on temporarily fixes it. Resetting my iPod doesn't change the frequency of this happening.

Very interesting problem you're having. Usually this is a iPod issue, but I'll run it by a few people today and tomorrow. Did you say what kind of iPod do you have?

Are you sure you have a Gen 4? It only came in 20, 30, 40, & 60 GB

But it doesn't matter, a 4th gen and a 5th gen are pretty much the same for this.
