Since my daughter's (8th grade) spring break is the week of April 2nd, I'm bored at work, she wants to see Maine, someone asked for help to install their block heater........

So I now intend to travel to Long Island for the LIPOG meet-up on the 4th, then travel to New Hampshire on the 5th for an engine block heater install, then to Maine sometime!

Does anyone else in the New England area want an engine block heater installed. You would have to order one from your dealer (good luck) or from

Takes about 30 minutes to install. Dealers usually want anywhere from $150-$250 for the install. My fee is...zero. If you feel like giving me something that's fine, if not that's fine. Having one helps in the winter and even in the summer if you take short trips/commutes.

Looking forward to seeing some more PriusChatters on the East Coast.

I DO! I DO!!!! But I won't hear of "zero"! NO way no how! I'd rather give the money to you cause I know it will be done right, and not botched by some clueless toyota tech. ;) Just got my EBH today too!

Well, Wayne and our daughter are on their way to Long Island and New Hampshire.... They left here at 12:40 AM.... I sure wish I could have gone with.. would have been so much fun.. But it is a great way for the 2 of them to bond, and a great way for our daughter to see new things and meet new people... I miss them already. This is going to be a LONG 4 days, but they will be home for Easter.

Just to let you know that Wayne and your daughter were at the meeting yesterday - both are fine. His battery show-and-tell was quite interesting, and he even volunteered to have his Prius put on the lift so the Tech reps could point out a few things. When last seen both were clutching their "goody-bags" and having a grand ol' time.

Yes, I was called from the Prius Meeting by Judy, and she said that things were fine.. later they called from the hotel, and Wayne told me about the car being put on a lift, etc... He said that you were great people, and they had a good time! How nice to get Goody Bags!! That just floored me.. I thought it was wonderful!

Judy is a bit sick with a nasty cold, so hopefully she will rest today and take it easy for the day, as I know Wayne has a few things planned for them both...

Thank you for being so wonderful to them at the meeting yesterday! It is great to know that we have friends there!

    Teresa

Well, Wayne and Judy reached Long Island at 2:00 PM our time, which was 3:00 PM Long Island time... They made really good time, and it seems that despite Judy having a cold, they are having a great time... Have not yet heard from them today, so when I do hear from them, will post on their where-abouts and how things are going. Will also ask how Prius did on mileage.... I am very curious to know!

I do know they are heading to New Hampshire today, so I am suer they will enjoy themselves!

Oh, and to answer your question Ranger, Rich did not go because he had to do some extra work at school for his Physics class... so we both had to stay behind.... otherwise, we all would have been going!

    Talk to you later!

Well talked to Wayne briefly this morning.. They are on their way to Freeport, Maine, where they are going to stop at LL Bean, and then heading onto New Hampshire.....

They are having a good time, and will be traveling through some mountains today, where I said to make sure they get pictures!!

Wayne said the Prius did 56.1 on the first tank of gas, and this second tank they are working on is so far 52.0.... so we shall see what they end up getting when all is said and done!

Judy si a little better today, has some congestion, but she will be alright...

Will keep you informed on the trip as I hear from them!

Great road trip, 2592 miles round trip with a 51 MPG average.

The LIPOG meet-up was great and I might have another trip back there if some of the members buy those block heaters.

Got to New Hampshire and priusFTW was a very gracious host. Got that block heater installed within 40 minutes (darn cord gave me a little trouble) and #20 is done. I know he'll put it to good use, he's already pushing lower 50's MPG.

Trip back was uneventful except for the blowing snow through most of PA and OH.

Can't wait for the next road trip, any takers?
