Forgive me if I've missed this topic, as I haven't logged in in months, but a search didn't find what I was looking for...

My work colleague was telling me that he read an article somewhere (doesn't remember where) that when it comes down to it, the Hummer might just be better for the environment in the long run. It said that the nickel in the Prius hybrid battery was highly toxic to the environment for one, plus the battery's parts are made in 3 separate countries, and all the production, shipping etc is also harming the environment. So when you add up all the destruction for one battery, it hurts the environment more than driving one Hummer.

Anybody seen this or know anything about it? I would love to have some info to refute the article and shut my friend up! :)

He's right. The search is currently busted. A logical search of prius and hummer gets nothing. Results are possible, but it's tricky.

When you do searches try to use the name of a company or individual as the criteria.

http://priuschat.com/index.php?act=Search&...mp;highlite=cnw

If that link doesn't work simply search for "cnw".

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(Presto @ Apr 11 2007, 06:22 PM) </div>
It works, you just have to try different criteria. My first try using CNW came up with most of the recent threads.

Trenapt, you might search GreenHybrid as well. Bob Wilson, a PC member, is also very active there, and has posted some very well written "debunking" arguments. I can't remember if he has posted similarly here, but maybe GH's search function is of more help than PC's.
