Aftermarket Leather Recommendations, Monterey or SF?

    After too many road trips with my hairy dog beasts in my 2006 Prius, I decided it's time to nix the cloth and get leather. I live in the Monterey Bay area. Has anyone had good experience installing leather here? Would it serve me better to take my car up to San Jose or San Francisco to get it done?

    Also, has anyone had great leather color combos put into a Magnetic Grey? I'd love to see photos!

    We got our new prius in Dublin Toyota. We got the Package 2 or B, but wanted leather, so we purchased an aftermarket leather upgrade (dealer installed) for $1,200 extra. This seems to be the best price we have found so far from Toyota-certified aftermarket installers.

    You might want to give Dublin Toyota a call about it if interested. Our salesperson was named Ken.

    Thanks! Anyone else? Is Katzkin leather pretty much the leather of choice?

    Surely all Prius' are driven by vegetarians. Doesn't that make it imoral or at least hypocritical of them to have leather upholstery?

    If cost is no object, contact Roth at Premier Auto Upholstery in Santa Clara.

    Even Porsche owners complain about his prices (for which he makes no excuses, he simply says "that's the price"), but the quality is second to none.

    They'll put Katzkin leather in your car, but you'll pay at least $500 more than you will at any other shop. Depending on how you value your time, and getting the job done right the first time, the premium may or may not be worth it to you.
