$10 Invisi-bra on Ebay

    E-Bay has a $10 Invisible Bra Kit available for a Prius. I bought one. To find a local installer in Phoenix, AZ was not easy but finally found one who would do it for $200.

    Has anyone else bought this kit? Worth getting installed? Or is it junk (in reality) and is not worth the expense of having someone install it (not something a novice wants to try installing on his own). It is not the 3M professional kits that dealers use (no wonder for $10).

    I'm actually in the middle of putting my eBay invisible bra on today, coincidentally (on the car, not me or the wife...). I spent the extra $10 to get the install DVD, which gave me the confidence to try it. The key is the hair dryer... (I'd also get their rubber scraper/squeegee)

    So far:
    1. I'd give the "fit" of the cut hood piece about a B+. The hood piece doesn't quite go to the edge of the hood - it's about 1/4" less on each side. But they have a nice cut-out for the Toyota emblem. It installed really easily, since the hood is a pretty flat plane with no challenging shapes. I'd say it took 20 minutes and looks great!
    2. The grill piece is a lot harder to work with - it's longer, so it's harder to take off the backing paper and keep clean while you're working it into place. The pattern for it is a B- because it doesnt fit the front bumper as nicely as I'd like. It's also a LOT harder to install since it has all those curves - it took me about 1.5 hours. But the end result looks fine, and the lack of perfect fit isn't that noticeable.

    If you have time, some patience, are willing to tolerate slight imperfections, and are good with your hands (and have a good hair dryer for heating and stretching the plastic), it'll save you a lot of money and give you about 95% of the results of a pro install. The local shop here wanted to charge me $600 for the hood, front bumper, a strip on the back bumper, and door guards. Too rich for me! So I just ordered a few extra feet of raw material from the ebay seller to make my own backbumper guard and the door guards, and used their front patterned piece. It's saving me about $540!
