from the old school always heard " get yourself a pop out of the frig" and it did not mean the small brown bottles of Busch Bavarian beer either.. :( I tried that stunt, didn't make it to my lips even :)

    I call it soda pop.

When I was too young to open the fridge myself, my stepfather gave me beer. For a long time my favorite was Blatz. I just liked the name. And I think it might have been the brand I was raised on.

Diet Dr. Pepper is my soda of choice.

I'd much rather have a soda out than a soda at home too. There's something about the fountain fizziness and crushed ice that makes it even better.

    Soda.

Everytime someone says "pop", I always see what I expect: someone old!

    Soda.

    Pop is someone's Dad.

Coke is something you snort when you have too much money and not enough brains.

You must be from Massachusetts- they call any kind of soda "tonic". To me. "tonic" is for mixing with gin!

If I don't call the drink by name, then I either say soda or soft drink.

I said soda when I lived back east, and picked up pop in the west. Now you tell me I said soda when I was young, say pop because I'm old? Crap. Busted. <_<

    Whatever, Royal Crown Cola ruled.

Nope. Just flavored corn syrup (not even old-fashioned cane sugar any more) and chemical brews that make modified corn starch look like food. Read a food label in the store. It's hard to find anything that actually has food in it any more, except in the produce aisle or the canned and frozen vegetable aisles. A good rule (which I don't follow myself) is never eat anything you cannot pronounce, or anything with more than one kind of sweetener (they use multiple types to disguise the fact that sweeteners compose 3/4 of the total calories of the product).
