Was just starting to look at buying a Prius and found a dealer who is selling some package 5's at the end of the month for 23,300. I know this is way below MSRP, and possible the invoice price, but wanted to know whether or not it is worth getting right away at this price or shopping around.

Also does anyone know what the out the door price is on this model at this price and what if anything else they try to tack on prices for (warranty, etc..)

    Thanks!

I think that $23,300 is a pretty good deal. The prices seem to have come down since there are no more HOV lane stickers in California and the tax deduction has been cut in half.

I bought a 2007 Package #5 at Symes Toyota (Pasadena) about a month ago for $24,374 before tax and title. I thought that I got a really good deal at the time. They told me that that was their invoice price, although it was below invoice according to Edmunds.com at the time. They added $45 for a "document preparation fee" which I didn't hassle over, but might have been able to get dropped.

They will try to add on an extended warranty, but you can get it for much cheaper from the guy here on PriusChat. Do a search for extended warranty on the forums here and you'll find it.

    Tax was $2014.57 and License/Title was $218.75.

Total out the door was $26,652.32

My wife has been driving the car for three and a half weeks and she loves it.

    Good luck shopping.
