I LOVE my new car! I have never had so much fun. One question: i have tried to download my phone book from my cell phone via blue tooth into the car's phone book--but i have been unsuccessful. The screen always says: transfer in progress or something like that--but it takes a long time and nothing ever happens.

    Any suggestions?

Also, did i dream this or is it possible to have some sort of commercial "phone book" downloaded into the Prius to avoid operator look up calls?

I really, really love my new car. I've had it 10 days!

If you have a Sprint/Nextel phone, you can't do it. I have the same problem.

That is not true... my carrier is Sprint and I have a Sanyo Katana and downloaded my contacts into my car... took about 2 minutes.

I can't remember the exact process but I think you get your car ready to receive them (like to search for something, maybe not, can't remember) but I had to go into my phone and find "Hands-free" (default car name) click on the options and hit "send item" and in there was an option to send my contacts.

Like I said I can't remember the process exactly, but it is something along those lines I know for sure. I had to go into my phone and select to send my contacts to my car, rather than my car search my phone for them... if that makes sense.

oh i just read your post more closely... you want that transfer in progress screen, then once you get that go into your phone and find where you can "send item" or "send contacts" or something along those lines. I'm sure it is different for every phone, like i said mine is a sanyo and worked that way.

but without a doubt it is possible, just do some searching in your phone's bluetooth menu
