I was vacuming my '05 today and noticed a plastic box under the driver's seat that looked like the old CD loader. It has two realease levers that allow the face plate to be opened. Does any one out there know what this box is for. Is it part of the JBL sound system?
    Thanks for your help.

Driver's side is the navigation system box
Passenger's side is the JBL amp.

Edit: I thought 2005 only have 6 packages?

To make it even worse... There was no leather in 05 so you have all there is :)

In 05 there were only 6 packages. If you have package 6, then you have all the toys. If you have package 5 you have most of the toys that 6 has, excluding Nav, stability control, HID headlamps and fogs. If I were purchasing today I would be getting the top package with leather (I enjoy leather seating much more than fabric), but when I made my purchase budgets were important and I had to stick to mine. Package 5 was a nice compromise.

If you have the built-in NAV it's a #6. If you have the JBL and no Nav, it's a #5. I wanted to get #5 (and get a third-party GPS system), but that option wasn't available in my area.

Since you have a 2005, do you know about the NAV override?

I guess I have the package 6 since I have the navigation. I got an unbelievable deal on ebay. It had 60k miles and was traded in at a Porcha sp? dealer. Their pictures and description were not real clear so I phoned them and asked them what it had with it. Only two of us placed bids on it and I won with a bid of $13,200. I have had it for 3 months and 8000 miles with no problems. :)

Do a search. There are dozens of existing posts about the nav override.

Take a look at http://www.wikihow.com/Override-Toyota-Pri...gation-Gray-out for the instructions. A couple of things to remember is that this you won't have to do this sequence every time you need it during a trip, it will go away when you power down.

The other is DON'T PLAY WITH THE OTHER BUTTONS! Some reset things or display information. If you press the LOADING button, you'll be getting pretty intimate with that box under the driver's seat as you'll have to take the top off in order to reset it.
