I tried to tackle this 2 or 3 times, and I need some advice.

I've searched and read almost all of the previous postings.

My first attempt was taking the pin out of the steering wheel. I couldn't get that pin to insert in the pin 27. So after that I ordered the OEM Button kit. I went back to that pin 27 and for the life of me could not get that pin into the harness. I tried a whole bunch of little tools and after pushing and pushing i the pin feel out of the wire. I got it pretty far in, but not far enough. Since this I'm afraid of damaging the surrounding wires or the harness it's self.

I want to get this mod in, any tips or advise on this would be helpful.

    Thanks,

    Jon

Have you raised the white bar on the plug? Although it's a bit tough to get the pin to seat all the way in it shouldn't be that difficult...use a small screw driver to push it all the way, but make sure the white bar is raised or you'll never get it.

The harvested pin from the steering column has some edges that stick out, be sure to crimp those down. Try the jeweler's screw driver to get it the rest of the way in.

BTW, I haven't seen the exact instruction set you're using so made no assumptions about what they showed.
