Hello, I have a 2007 prius with base factory radio. I want to install an HD radio/ ipod adapter/ Sirius adapter that all work off of the touch screen. I have purchased the Toyota Sirius adapter from Metro Toyota as I know it can be installed. I have found on the website below a DICE module that will provide BOTH HD AND IPOD integration (I could not find the same model on the Prius Chat accesory list) that appers to be very user friendly. I took a printout of the site below to Best Buy and they said that they could only install them both if the radio has a "data bus plug" on the back side. My knowledge of car radio installation is limited so I went to the local Toyota dealership and asked them if it had the special plug. In the service dept they looked a little confused at my question and eventually after looking through some of their books they said "we dont know" and "ask Best Buy to look while they are taking the dash apart". So I guess my question is...

Can anyone tell me if both of these items can be installed on a 2007 factory radio and be controlled off of the touch screen?

Thanks ahead of time for your assistance,

Yes, it will work with your Sirius just fine, you'll have no problems. Your car does have the plug, there's nothing special about it, every single Toyota does. ....and I wouldn't go to Best Buy, they're not the greenest grapes in the bunch.

PS: The PriusChat shop will have the HD modules for sale really really soon.

OH, the iPod cable is sold separately - that HD module you linked didn't have the cable included.

Wow what a quick and conclusive response. Thanks. I was really impressed by the combination HD/Ipod module for about 230.00 including the additional ipod cable. Instead of setting up the ipod by a series of playlists, it looks like the typical ipod screen which is searchable by artist, song and playlist. I did call DICE and they said that there is a new firmware coming out for this product in a few days that will knock our socks off, but would not elaborate futher. If Prius Chat is going to offer this combo product soon then I would be glad to hold off for a little while.

    Thanks again,

    Steven

You can browse by Song, Playlist, Album, and Chapter. Not by Artist. But where did you see a screenshot that looks like a iPod screen?

It's not a new firmware, just some code that doesn't effect Toyota's. There are no new features being added, what's shipping now is the latest that's going to be available for a while.

Whoops, you are correct it does not search by artist. But still seems to be the best thing available currently.

    Thanks again,
