Driftwood Pearl #9 4/19/04 Delivered 5/7/04

    I got very lucky on this one:D My dealer, Toyota 101 in Redwood City had someone cancel this car after it was on the boat. I got the call and was at the dealership on 4/19 within an hour with a check for the full amount (turns out all I needed was a $500 deposit). I was told it should arrive in L.A. around 5/11/04. Give it a few days to be transported to Redwood City California and a day to prep o maybe 5/15

    Well here it is 8 days early. I was the first one they called for this shipment and was the first to arrive. Since I had already paid for it I just did all the signing. I was so fast to arrive that they still had it in the lift so they let me in the shop to watch a little of the prep. As I was leaving the second owner arrived to pick up a Driftwood #7. In the lot next to us was a Salsa, Black, Silver and Seaside Pearl. They were all ordered in December 03 for a nearly six month wait.
    As I said, I feel very lucky.

    Congratulations, Gen2!

    I picked up mine on Wednesday which, by my calculations, was around 2 weeks early........waited for it a bit longer than a month, though! :)

    Thanks Tag, It was a nail biting experience to wait and not be sure that the dealer would really have the car for me, of if he was just stringing me along. it turns out that Toyota 101 in Redwood City, CA was very sympathetic to us Prius afficionados and really came through for us.

    This posiive experience has really changed my mind about car dealers : )

    Gen2, wow! Who was your dealer at Toyota 101? Were they able/willing to tell you what spot you were on the waitlist? I signed up for a Silver AM on May 08, 2004, and so far all I've gotten is one phone call from Terry Chavez with the fairly non-commital announcement that they weren't sure when it was going to come in. In four more days, it will be my 5th month on the waitlist. I really got sucked in back in May when he made it sound like "4 months" was the upper limit of what I would have to wait, with the possibility that he'd call me if somebody else passed it up. Well, doesn't look like that's happening...

    Just got my Prius last night from Toyota 101 after 158 days!
