V710 Question -Can BT function be turned off and on in phone

    What I am wondering is whether you can turn off the BT function when you get in the car to ensure the phone will ring if you get a call.

    Not ideal I realize, but in case you are expecting an important call...

    I'm thinking of getting the V710 since I'm a Verizon customer, but don't want to be without a ringing phone. Thanks for the info...

    You can turn BT off and on when you get in the car. Actually, I have setup sortcuts on my phone so I can do this easily. As for the ringing, it bothers me that neither the phone nor the car rings while in BT mode. However, it does say incoming call on the MFD screen and it stops your audio from playing which is good. Hope that helps!

    If you are expecting an important call be sure to leave the radio on or play a CD. In that way when the call comes in you will notice the silence of the audio and look at the screen which will say on the display, "you have an Incoming Call..
    Also can Wolfpack elaborate on the proceedure for setting uo the shortcut to disable the Bluetooth??

    billyb,

    To change shortcuts:
    Go to Main Menu
    Arrow down to and select Settings
    Choose #2 Personalize
    Select Home Screen
    Select Home Keys
    UP, DOWN, LEFT, and RIGHT are short cut keys you can change for different functions of the phone
    You can also choose to hide the shortcuts or leave them on the main screen

    I can navigate around the phone and create shortcuts but I still haven't figured out how to easily create one to turn thebluetooth on the v710 on and off. If i go to settings, and then connection,and then bluetooth link and then setup, are you sayingthe power on option shold be set as the shorcut?? I don't want to screw things up so let me know if thats what you did. Thanks for all your help

    billyb,

    My bad! By adding BT to your shortcut menu, it allows you to get to the BT menu faster. From that menu you can turn on and off the power (I think it is the second choice down). The shortcut will not turn off and on BT, sorry for the confusion. All the shortcut does is get you to the menu to toggle the power. Hope that helps

    Has anyone been able to get the voice dial function to work using the BT speakerphone and the v710?
