Daniel, to shoot yourself driving, set up the camera on a tripod in a parking lot and just drive in circles in front of the camera. That way we all get an impression of the turning radius of your new ride, plus driving in circles will go perfectly with the organ music. The only thing you'd need to complete the effect would be a clown nose and floppy shoes! .... and maybe a monkey. :)

How about Daniel wearing a gorilla suit, driving in circles, with the organ music in the background? I bet that would be one of the top-rated videos on YouTube! :)

Yeah, but a chimp driving a car could crash it and... Errrm, I see your point... :(

If you are registered on YouTube, you can subscribe to "SpokaneDan", and when you go to YouTube you'll see any new organ videos.
(being an East Coaster, I forget that you pronounce "Spokane" with a short "a"- I just realized that "SpokaneDan" rhymes!)

Oh, oh, I LOVE number 4. I love the tune. That's my heritage. That's my roots! It's in my blood. That's the best.

(Nice hat and smile too. And I like that shirt.)

I've made a playlist and added them all to my favorites!

Since the YouTube image is not all that clear, here is the t-shirt:

And yes, I bought it when I was there. I never wear t-shirts depicting places I have not been.

Not only do I have to turn the crank at the right speed, I have to turn it at a constant speed, or else it sounds really horrible.

...considering how uncoordinated I am, I think I do pretty well... it's the only instrument I can play... :)

Now, now, gentlemen. This is a clean thread. Or was supposed to be, anyway.

    Update on the monkey:

I ordered a plush monkey over the internet a month ago, and it never came. So I sent them an email yesterday. They claim they never got the payment notice from PayPal but they will ship my monkey today. (I sent them the PayPal confirmation number so they could verify that I did pay them.) I don't believe that they didn't get the PP notice, but I do believe it was an honest oversight, that they overlooked it when it came through.

I should have the monkey for my organ in a week or so, depending on their shipping method. I will post pictures here when it comes.

The great thing about daniel's organ videos is that they show that anyone can make music. I don't mean to be facetious; nor is that a put-down of daniel- I literally mean anyone can make music. It doesn't matter how coordinated you are, or whether you have a "tin ear"- just pick something up and make some noise!
My dad decided to take up guitar a few years ago, in his 70s, many years after having to endure my brother and me with our garage bands. He's a long way from Eric Clapton, but he's having fun with it. I pick up a guitar just about every day, even if I'm watching the news on TV, and often it's the only thing that keeps me sane. But if you don't play an instrument and don't want to take on the guitar, there are all kinds of means of creating a joyful noise. My brother bought his kids an instrument called a "strumstick"; it's like a skinny 3-stringed guitar. It's tuned to a diatonic scale (that means no "wrong" notes) so you can't help but sound good playing it. Even better than buying one- build your own. Or an autoharp, or whatever sounds good to you.
Before TV, video games, iPods, etc.- people entertained themselves by sitting around the piano, playing the fiddle, etc.- by making their own music. Music does not have to be a corporate commodity manufactured and controlled by the Sony's of the world. You don't have to be a consumer- be a PRODUCER!

My monkey, Irving, arrived, but I could not post a picture of him until now because of the PC migration issues. Here he is:

Please note that even though the image says "Click to Enlarge" the actual enlargement is about 3%, not worth waiting for the page to reload.

Anyway, that's Irving. I hope you like him.
