window tinting laws across states..

    I've become very good friends with the search feature so I sincerely hope that this isn't a question that's been gone over before.

    If I legally tint my Prius windows for my state (front: 35) but drive around in another state (California) where the legal window tint is 70, can they ticket me for it? Will I get pulled over?

    I don't plan on tinting my windows that dark.. probably will do an in-between and let in about 50.

    Usually you are only required to comply to tinting laws in state where you have your car register.

    CA vehicle code applies to any vehicle operated on a CA road.

    You'll only get ticketed for illegal tint if you're pulled over for another reason. It is rare to be pulled over just for illegal tint.
