WHAT vehicle are you trading-in ?? We had a stunning, almost perfect (showroom condition) '03 Acura MDX Touring (w/ NAVI & Factory Towing) and we got $19,500 !! Kelly BLUE Book was around $22K (trade-in) but in the BLACK BOOK (what MOST Dealers use) our MDX was topped out at $19K in "excellent" condition (which it really was) but OUCH............... what a difference from the $45K+ we paid for it in Feb. 2003

    2007 Black Prius, Package #2.

$23,569 window price.. was the only one on the lot with supposedly three appointments to view/test in the afternoon. They didn't budge one cent. Got $2,500 for the trade-in which should have been at least $500 higher.

Process went on from 11:30-4:30.. yes, I definitely count the time, especially if it was unnecessary with all the back and forth. We got a keychain and a metal Prius license plate holder as freebies.

While we were in the process, a couple of people did come look at my Prius and one salesperson even sat in it as he was showing it to a couple of people. Another salesperson was doing a trade of some sort and appeared to be discussing the Prius as well.. so they weren't kidding about the demand. We tried a week ago to look at Prius models but they said they had sold all seven over the weekend.

This is in Missouri. The salesperson was young and friendly but seemed scattered. Also, they gave us the wrong spare fob so tomorrow I get to spend another hour at the dealership so they can reprogram it.

And.. there's my really lengthy Prius buying experience! I learned a lot from all the posts here so I hope mine helps as well.

Oh! I have to add that while chatting with the salesperson something was mentioned about warrenties and we were like "they always try to pressure you with those and we never ever buy them.." and they just tacked it on the total price instead of trying to sell it to us! But it was caught and the $2000 extra charge was taken off.

I bought a new 2007 Pkg 5 last week for $23674. With tax, title, and license it came out to be $26000 out the door.

I dealt with the Internet/Fleet Manager for this purchase and had a great experience.

I bought my Prius two weeks ago through the fleet dept and was $30,000 out the door for the Touring, package #6 including tax, title, and license plus Lojack, extended warranty, and prepaid maintenance. I bought mine through Toyota of Riverside, but I could have gotten a similar deal at Moreno Valley Toyota. Talk to Eric in Riverside or Shandell at Moreno Valley--fleet department.

$22,300 for a 2007 with package #2. It also had "ToyoGuard", which I was not in the market for, but what are you going to do? It's the color my wife wanted (Silver Pine) and had minimal options (backup camera and stability control was all I was after).
I found this dealership much easier to work with than when I was shopping for a Tundra about 5 years ago. Around Atlanta, they seem quite proud of their Toyotas and in no hurry to discount.
If any of you are USAA members, the USAA buying service started you, at no hassle, at a pretty good price. I was able then to shave about another $400 by speaking with several different dealers.
This is probably a conversation for another board - but they also said they're selling the 100k warranty at 1/2 price ($895) - seems to good to pass up, but for now I have passed it up. I'd like to hear about how many buyers get this warranty, and then how many use it.

    A dealer offered me a 2007 with package #2 for $22,800.

I had already bought a 2005 with 22,000 for $17,900. I'm trying to talk hubby into getting a Hybrid, too. ;)

    JUST AN F.Y.I. ............

ToyoGuard Plus Package is ALL put on AT THE PORT (Jacksonville, Florida) and is a very famous "money making add-on gimmick" by the S.E.T. Dealers (SouthEast Toyota). Thay want $699 for this...... and all you get is VIN Glass Etch, Paint "Sealant/Protector" (which any good product like Zaino runs circles around) and they quickly spray the underside of your "wheel wells" with "undercoating".................

IF you can "get the vehicle BEFORE PORT" (on the ship) as WE did, you can completely "cancel" this ToyoGuard and SAVE $699 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just ordered my Prius a week ago.

2007 Magnetic Grey w/ package #5. $24,930 + Doc/Lic/Reg (no tax in Oregon, yay!). OTD will be $25,167

What do you think? Good deal?

The more I read the faster I want it to come!

Edit: Forgot to mention that OR has $1500 in state tax credits in addition to the $787 Fed credit.

My first post but I've been a big lurker.
Thanks to EVERY1 on this board for the valuable data points & opinions!

Base Prius + #2 for $21290 + free mats = $22353 OTD. (& Wow, the $787 Federal tax credit makes the net $21566)

Good & fair deal esp. since sales during Memorial Day weekend made the Prius fly out the door in this area.

You are correct package #6 will have to get back to you on out the door price. But we only had added the $199.00 for the floor mats that came with the care. Plus tax and license Ca. 91307 8.25% tax rate

Oh, we went back and cancelled the 3rd part warranty, as the Toyota extended warranty that Troy sells is much, much less pricey, and is geniune Toyota.

So, take that 26,050 that we paid, and subtract 2327.54 *theme music while the calculations are done*
    $23,722.46 out the door.

    I'm still quite happy :D

    Hi all,

New to the forum. I've been working with an Auto Broker to obtain my Prius. What's the consensus on Auto Brokers? Are they an ok thing? Any good or bad experiences? Here is what my Broker quoted me at on a Package 5 Base Prius (non-touring that is)

    24522.00 close to invoice
    - 500.00
    24022.00 s
    + 55.00 doc fee
    + 2106.74
    + 204.00 DMV
+ 8.75 Tire and County Tax (sometimes on the contract this is
included with the DMV, which would make the DMV 212.75 (I am in the SF Bay Area/Alameda County)
    + 20.00 Electronic filing fee
    26416.49 t

Additionally there is a cost for her service of finding me a slightly above invoice car, btw.

Is this good in your opinion/s?

I had asked to remove the doc fee but she said that it wasn't worth it at $55. Also told me the price increased from $45 to $55. Is this true? I cannot find any information regarding doc fees in my area so I'm not sure if there actually was an increase.

Also, I'm still debating on two colors - I like both the blue and the green equally. What I think might make me decide is to figure out which color is more marketable when I decide to sell and/or trade it years from now. Opinions?

    Thanks. :)
