    All,

We've got a 2004 Prius and a 2002 Acura MDX, both with nav systems. It's been interesting to compare and contrast each, and our conclusion is that while the Prius nav system is more flexible and feature-rich, it has a couple of really annoying features which greatly harm its usability.

The biggest one is the need to enter the suffix for a street name, i.e. Dr, Rd, Ave, NW, SE, etc. On the MDX you just enter the primary name ("Maple"), and it will consider Maple Dr, Maple Rd, Maple Ave, S Maple Blvd, all to be valid. Since there's rarely both a Maple Rd and a Maple Ave in the same city there's no downside, and even if you had both in the same city you'd have to know which one you want anyway. Is there any workaround for this? It doesn't even appear you can narrow it down by city until after you've selected whether you want N Maple Pkwy or W Maple Way.

I would have to disagree, here in CA there are many such duplicate street names. 8)

I don't really use the nav, I've gotten used to searching it out in advance on mapquest.

Whats the cute dog's name? :)

    Peace

i haven't found the need to enter a street type designation. When I think that I have entered enough information, I tap the city selection. If there are multiple street designations within a city, I should be able to select then; if there is only one, it is automatically selected.

I do enjoy the way the keyboard restricts the next letter typed based on what has been typed already. It would be nice if it auto-added when only one choice was possible.

you may have tried this already, but i have found by hitting "list" prior to putting in the suffix usually helps me. i also do this when the letters start to disappear (i can tell my choices have narrowed). i don't remember trying city prior to anything else other than when finding POIs.
