    Galaxee,

I am sorry you and your DH had to put up with such behavior. Please do not underestimate how much those of us who are new here appreciate the knowledge and experience that you provide to us. Those of us who read and value your posts FAR outnumber the occasional bad apple. Unfortunately those of us who must deal with the public meet them all. It is the better person who doesn't get sucked into their bulls__t.

Hope you and he are feeling better,
    Neicy

That is a horrible story and that individual should be ashamed of him/herself. Where does someone get off like that demanding such things?

In your post you mentioned that DH almost lost his job over this! I'm sure that DH's superior knows what a good, honest, hard working person he is. Furthermore, he probably knows that this customer was somekind of crackpot. I don't know the whole history/backgroud of DH and his situation, but I would certainly hope that his superior supported him on this.

problem with the superiors is that they live and breathe by customer service index ratings... [cough cough, their bonuses depend upon that]. which is why DH nearly lost his job. anytime a customer gets upset over whatever, it knocks down their ratings.

so no, he didn't have a lot of support despite the entire shop exclaiming what an a-hole was. the service manager understood but it wasn't his call- it was HIS boss that nearly fired DH.

sigh... it's all driven by money. sucks to be one person among few who doesn't operate on dollar signs.

No, it's actually a rare and noble thing these days to see people stand against 'operating under the dollar'. I'm just as mad as my fellow PC'ers for what happened to your husband, Galaxee. Tell him...tell him that maintaining a work ethic like that is an admirable thing. The simple fact that your husband has held on and continued to provide support to noob PC'ers like myself is an inspirational thing. He could charge people to do something not many people can do - help troubleshoot a Prius. Instead, your husband, God bless his heart, continues to pour out advice time and time again to help us understand the unconventional parts of an unconventional car.

Thanks for sharing your pain with us, galaxee. I hope that the person in question really sees the shame in taking advantage of your hubbys and I pray to God and Jesus Christ that they either apologize, or find their way somewhere else.

    *HUG*

And such is the crux of "customer satisfaction based pay." Normally, the only time someone hears about customer satisfaction is when the customer isn't satisfied. How many customers have walked out of the place completely and totally satisfied but never filing a comment card to that effect?

We should take this to heart and from now on strive to acknowledge the good service we receive on a regular basis if only to offset the rude and inconsiderate people who only acknowledge the bad (or make up their own).

Few things hurt more than backstabbing, especially when you both contribute so much in the area of technical advice on PC. I'm sorry that this happened, and as has been pointed out, the limitations of the customer satisfaction ratings are glaringly obvious in such a situation.

    Peace.

    Galaxee,
Add "and not so noob" to the 5th line. There are a handful of people on this site whose advice I follow without question and you are one of them. Intellectually I would second ozyran's sentiments however I am so angry over your situation that I prefer an Old Testament treatment be visited unto the unnamed. Can we convince you to rat this person out in PM? The least we can do is a good old Amish-like shunning.

Oh, I can't wait for the first annual Prius Chat "Battle of the Mall Ninjas". This should be a good one.

BTW, did you train at Rex Kwan Do?

Let me see if I have this straight: The BOSS is a 30 something with some Business degree, an Excel spreadsheet permanently open on his desktop, glaring at the “points†and the bottom line and having no clue if a car in front of him is a Prius or a Model “Tâ€.

The fact is that US businesses started going down the drain following the graduation of the first Business Administration class.

Really sorry to hear galaxee. The tech advice that you and DH provide here is very much appreciated and you are one of the good folks on PC. I hope that this d*ckhead who f*cked DH over is reading this and is ashamed of himself, and does whatever he can do to make the situation right.

I'm sure if we "searched" shim's we could with a reasonable guess figure it out. Maybe they should just admit it and get a spanking verbally and realize that they screwed up big time. To P**s on your mechanic always comes back to haunt you.

    Oh man,

Sorry to hear about that. That IS pretty weak.

And the guy actually announced himself as a PC'er?

    What a schmo.

Keep up the good work. You (and your significant other) are
a valuable resource and are highly esteemed around these parts.

Well hopefully, the person who did this will read your post and realize how out of line he/she was and has the guts to make an apology.

However, probably not. All I can say is that I'm sorry to hear it happened.
