I've read the manual and played around with the Nav system but I keep screwing it up and then don't know how to delete what I've done. I am truly frustrated. With the extra $$$ for this option, I sure want to be able to use it. If there's anyone in SW to Central Washington or the Portland, OR area that I could meet with, I'd sure appreciate it.

I've read the manual too and I understand the feeling of "getting lost" (so to speak) in the information. I found it helpful to remember that on the right side of the Nav screen is a Dest button. Push that and you can enter new destinations (SEVERAL ways) or delete them.

Yet another reason I don't drive to work: so I don't keep running out to my car to help answer users' questions. Hope this helps.

you might have better luck if you joined the WA St forum and post your query there. we have several members from the Portland OR and Vancouver WA area that might be able to help you out.

I live in Portland and have the NAV system, but I'm no expert at it either. However, I do know how to enter and delete a destination. It's not that hard once you get the hang of it. jimofdg is right, the DEST button is your key here.

 Than manual is enough to drive anyone to join AA! I read the section on NAV-- and reread it (as well as sections on other stuff for the car)-- and then finally went over to a Toyota dealership where one man had gone to Toyota University (no joke...) to learn about the Prius.

This man helped me with a few items. But I definitely need to see him again-- for quite a while-- so that I can use this expense device-- as well as "Voice Commands." That's a whole other story there....

Good luck. I wish Toyota included a built-in tutor (in the monitor) to teach us how to use the NAV screen. They could even have voice commands for use to use to have the computer answer us. Of course, %#!**, are a few words that the voice commands would have to understand also..... Good luck.

PS One kind participant on this site said that he might rewrite the manual. I think we all would pay for something (1) in English, (2) that made sense, (3) was clear in its directions, and (4) told us exactly how to do each neat function offered........ I can dream, can't I?

The link above is not to the manual, it's to a flash tutorial, much easier than the poorly translated manual...

At first I was also overwhelmed with the nav system. What I found out is, with the passage of time and with continually playing around with the nav system it comes to you without really trying. In summary, I say don't worry you will just start to obtain the required knowledge piece by piece.

:D THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU. I know, I'm shouting. Finally, something I can understand. As great as my Prius is, Prius dropped the ball when explaining this feature. They must think we're all geeks and can understand their nav manual. However, there are those of us over 60 who have a hard time understanding a word processor, let alone a nav system. Even us old guys think green even if we're not techies. Thanks for the link to the tutorial. Now I understand. (I've added to my favorites)
